I'm def going to do this mod too. I think I'll pay a shop because I'm nervous as well. But if someone would do a write up with pictures, I'd feel more comfortable attempting it.

Will definitely take pics and post a review on both install and test drive that is if the transmission doesn't roll off and crush me lol. I will be using the DIY converter install from the 3rd Gen section as a guide to help me out so I am hoping not to much has changed from his 04' I think it was to my 12'.

Nothing yet. These are so new that I don't even think Edge has seen an 8 speed converter yet. I will be speaking with them about this though.

Just be sure to pre-fill the converter with atleast 2 qts of ATF+4 and make sure it is fully seated in the transmission. Best way to do this is take a straight edge across the bellhousing and measure the depth before pulling the old converter. Then when you have new converter in do the same thing. If its not the same then you need to rotate the converter and push it in more.

Once you're all reassembled start it up, let it get up to temp and shift through P-R-N-D a few times then check your trans fluid and add a quart or two as necessary.Take it for an easy drive then recheck your fluid again and add if necessary. If its ok then let her rip.
