Problem 1: I want to drive my truck MORE!
Problem 2: I want to mod my truck MORE!
Seriously though, I installed the 87 Octane tune and was hearing some ping at WOT on the high end of the RPM band just before it shifted to 2nd. I figured it was due to the octane rating of the gas I was using. So, I drove the hell outta my truck and emptied that tank and filled up with 93 Octane V-Power from Shell. I then installed the 93 Octane tune and I am still hearing a little bit of ping at WOT at the high end of the RPM band just before it shifts to 2nd.
What gives?
Am I missing something or is this something that can be adjusted within the tune. Maybe something Hemifever can "tune away"? I have heard that this may be caused by "deposits" that have built up because when the truck was stock tuned, it was never revved that high before. Now, to me this sounded like some **** but I don't know enough to argue the point. I also heard that you have to put some time on the clock so that things kind of work themselves out but again, I have no way to argue the point. Could someone gimme some words of wisdom?
