Yeah the truck needs a washing and I clearly have to dip all the chrome, but I think it looks better? I can't stand those factory wheels but they look badass black. Question for you plasti dippers, why is the stuff sticking to my tires?

Was going to just dip my Wheel Skins but when I tried to take them off I broke 3 of them. Those things are cool, in fact when I was looking to upgrade my ram the dealer put that I had upgraded chrome rims because the sales dude thought they where real. But when you leave them on a while they don't want to come off easy. Messed up my factory rims as well trying to get the skins off. It might be good if you are trying to sell your truck or just use for a while so you can get some life out of the factory tires, but I wouldn't recommend those skins if taking them off is something you want to do at a later date. Plus they have doubled in price and hard to find. Anyhow, God has a way of punishi8ng the lazy, just dip your factory junk and leave those skins alone.

If your tires were dry (no tire shine) then the dip will adhere quite strongly and not want to peel off. Whenever I dip a set of rims I make sure to dress the tires but you need to be careful not to get any shine on the rims themselves.

Awesome stuff man. I have the same color and plan on dipping my badges and wheels when it gets a bit warmer. I'm going to go with anthracite gray I believe, at least that is the plan now.

Thanks, I almost went for that grey as well, looking forward to seeing yours. It was around 75 today in nor cal, sweating and working all day.

Looks good! I'm waiting for it to warm up here enough so I can do my wheels until I buy aftermarket ones.

I took off the first tire but it was a PITA and dangerous on my gravel driveway. I just taped off the lugs and used a plastic bag around the brakes. Doesn't look perfect at all, but it looks good to me. This aging body just doesn't feel like doing the stuff I used to take for granted.

I thought it looked better before. I've just never been a fan of solid black wheels. Once you get a little distance away from the vehicle you can't tell what the wheel looks like.

I'm an older dude and to be honest there is time better spent in my days then doing this junk, however those factory wheels suck hard ***. The color is just where puke meets ****. If they where chrome or even stainless I would have left them alone. However, now that it is done they look great IMO. Also, I live on a dirt road so anything chrome or stainless always looks worse then flat black. I don't even wash my truck because it is useless to do so, so the black will be dust shortly anyway :)

I'm an older dude too! I guess that is why I'm not fond of the solid black wheel look. Reminds me too much of and 60's or 70's car running around with no hub caps.

I do understand your situation with the dirt road and regardless of what I think if you lie it that is all that matters! Nice truck too!!

You should have put some note cards in between the tire and rim to keep the dip off the rims.

Looks good though.

Looks real good. Did you open up your lights or they aftermarket? If so, do you like them?

Aftermarket. Check Ebay

I bought these aftermarket. I love them! They give that tinted look to the truck without actually tinting the lenses. I put a vinyl tint on the fog lights and noticed they are dimmer than before so I'm glad I didn't loose any brightness from the headlights with them.
