Reading through the forum trying to figure out the process that I'm gonna need to go through to add power mirrors to my truck, and I'm kinda getting lost. I have a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn, it came stock with the tow mirrors and I'm looking to upgrade them to power folding, what door modules would I need or will the current door modules already be capable of power folding (I assume not but I don't think I've seen that question answered). Do the modules last two letters (AA, AB etc)need to match for the system to work properly? I'm very sorry for what are probably very obvious questions, but as I said I'm just getting overwhelmed with information right now.

Did you replace the left/right door modules too to get the power fold function?
I replaced the right door module because I’m only adding power fold on the passenger side. Is this my problem? Do I need to replace the left side module even though my driver side mirror doesn’t have power fold? Thanks for responding.

Driver side is the primary/control module... Need both (assuming the rest is the hardware is genuine OEM & functional)

Last 2 letters don't matter (generally) on most PNs... AA, AB, AD, etc.

Only way to know what door modules you have is to open the door panels & look at the PNs to see if they are compatible vs OP. (Not sure if AlfaObd can see the door modules/PNs)

Good to know. Would you have the part # for the left side module for the 2019 1500 classic? I really appreciate everyone’s guidance.

Hi!
I need to replace on of my mirrors and I was considering getting two mirrors with the lights. My existing are heated and power-not power fold (2015 tradesman quad cab)
I attached a photo of my module and I see that there is an unused port…I’m hopeful that will allow the new signal/puddle lights (after programming). Does anyone know if that is the case?

I don’t need the power fold and don’t really feel like spending the dough on the improved modules…so if this won’t work, I’ll just buy what works with what I’ve got
Thanks a bunch!

Yes, they will be plug and play BUT you do need something like AlfaOBD to make some changes in the BCM so the lights work. I recently did it on my 2014.

I just left the dealership.... they told me that my pickup does not have the compatible wiring for power folding mirrors. I have a 2014 Longhorn 2500 Cummins. Has every option minus the power folding tow mirrors. I have installed the power folding tow mirrors, folding mirror drivers door switch and both power folding mirror door modules per your initial posts with all the P/Ns. I have now lost mirror adjustment and no power folding function. I am now lost. I am by no means an electrician, metal bender by trade and career military man. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I have alfaOBD.

You need to use alfaobd and enable it. It should work if you have all everything installed.

Like @BlownGP said, if you haven't made the changes with AlfaOBD already that needs to be done. Changes are in this post...

I need to ask a question about just replacing the mirror glass. I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Bighorn, want to just replace the mirror glass on drivers side. Heated, power ( not auto) auto dim. I can not find a glass that will work. The back of the glass is a circle not square. Please if you know tell me where to get a replacement

I ran into something similar swapping the mirror covers on my 18 Laramie... One side has the square mount and the other side has the round glass mount.

Some Google/eBay search and I believe this may be the glass you're looking for...

PN: 68381787AA ... eBay link
OEM FACTORY NEW LEFT SIDE DRIVER SIDE EXTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR GLASS.
(Appears to have both heated & AutoDim connections)

** You should really reach out to RamForum Vendor @AllMoparParts.com & they (Benny) can verify it for your truck and get you one, check availability, etc. he may even have a discount for forum members he can offer.

If you can't find one at a decent price I may have one with some scratched glass in my workshop that I'd give you for free (you just pay shipping).

Edit: Just Realized yours is auto dimming, mine is not

I recently installed a used set of folding mirrors. I don’t have a need for them to fold, so I plugged them into my existing door module. When I programmed into diagFCA I was able to get it to recognize the auto dim drivers mirror
Is there any way to turn it on or off without the fancy radio?

ok. so i found this thread AFTER i have made my upgrade.....
my truck is a 2015 1500 quad cab express (master window switch is dual plug)

i found a set of power fold mirrors, modules, door harness, and master window switch (single plug) i installed and set all settings in alfa obd, mirrors all work as intended, power folding, leds etc

today was the first time i tried to roll down rear windows but would not work, i heard the driver door module clicking but no movement...im assuming the door harness has a different pin out or something??? unfortunatley i do not know original truck for power folding mirrors to look up wire diagram for comparison and i do not have the time at the moment to pull the harness out of truck to compare to my original. i am hoping someone may be able to save me the trouble/time. thanks in advance.

You have identified the issue.... You need the correct dual plug switch PN from the 1st post
