Not bad, can't really see it during the day. I wonder how it looks at night. lol

I think it looks pretty good. Pretty much what I was going for. I'm going to open them back up and RE-seal with a black silicone, then call it a day.

I have two spare thirds to play with. There is room but I think I'm going to just try tension/press fitting a strip in around the perimeter and wedge it into place with an auto trim tool.

BTW, the auto trim tools work great to separate the lens from the housing without damaging either.

For anyone interested in doing this, I found a really good, easy to work with and weatherproof way of resealing the tails. 3M Window Weld Ribbon Sealer...

It has a lot more grip than silicone (it's butyl) and if you decide to open it back up you can reuse what's there.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but did anyone have any issues with moisture or condensation in their tails after resealing with silicone? I'd like to use a clear silicone to prevent any mess. I used butyl on my headlights and swore I'd never use it again after dealing with the mess it makes. Thanks

I used butyl for my heads as well and used the silicone for my tails.

Zero issues with moisture or condensation in my tails. I would definetly use the silicone over the butyl anyday. So much easier to work with IMO.
