If that happens I’d imagine it will be similar to GMC vs Chevy. Just a fancier and more expensive version of what Toyota is already putting out.
Or like the Lincoln Mk-whatevers vs F150.

I'm wondering if that bumper may have been repainted due to minor damage of some kind . Not uncommon at at all. Talk to the owner of the dealership calmly. if that doesn't work, I might also suggest calling RAM / Stellantis and calmly discuss BOTH issues.

And, try to remember that the person on the phone is not Stellantis, they only work there.

I owned a 2017 Rebel, and if I’m not mistaken the Warlock used the same bumpers as 4th gen Rebels. If that’s the case the bumpers are powder coated, not painted. I haven’t looked at a 1500 Classic Warlock though so I’m not positive they use the same bumpers. But if that’s the case you might just consider repainting the bumper with bed liner and call it a day.

I've walked away from Ram for better reasons.

2012 lifters gone at 50k miles despite religious oil changes. Replaced them. Then developed piston slap. Replaced long block. Then the transmission was going despite 30k mile oil and filter replacement.

Got a 2017 lifters gone at 70k miles, religious oil changes.

Wife promised me that those trucks last forever because her dad drove them. Found out he never kept his past 40k miles...well...

I'm not here to start fights so I won't post what I bought.

But I can tell you that we still talk about how nice looking and how great the cab and interior features were of my 2017.

But I don't buy a truck based on looks and interior features ( Ram is probably the best in this area). I want to buy capability and long life(this doesn't seem possible any more really). I wish they made brand new stripped down f250s with the 7.3 at a working man's price point.

If everything else on the steering wheel works but not the heated wheel, it’s not the clockspring. Pull the horn fuse, pop off the airbag, it has 3 tabs that are freed with a 6” flat head, and reconnect the cable. I’ve had this happen twice. The heating element cable connector is not very secure.

As for the bumper, take it off and to a shop. Get it line-Xed.

Slight focus-shift in a “bumper” thread: It’s not a Dodge/Ram matter.
My beef with bumpers is…. They are NOT “bumpers”. They are decorative trim and sensor mounts.
They can NOT accept ANY contact with other objects without expensive damage. The old A-model Fords had bumpers designed to be “bumped-into” and “get on down the road”.

Mandated fuel-mileage rules have driven mfr’s to extreme efforts at weight-savings, and that has resulted in bumpers which are not bumpers.

I'll take a peeling front bumper over the higher likelihood of a Ford having a trans failure or the GM having a trans/or lifter failure. I know it's possible on the Hemi too, but less likely. In all honesty, none of the customer service departments at any manufacturer is worth their salt anymore and we've learned to only be loyal to a brand until it's no longer good to us. Then we cut ties and walk away for a while.

We've had both Toyota and Ford tell us to kick rocks in the past... with both vehicles well within in the manufacturer warranty. We've learned that they will all have a problem at some point, and we've learned that if there is a serious problem and the mfg won't fix it, we walk away. Outside of warranty, you can't really expect ANYONE to fix something for you.. but sometimes a polite conversation goes a long way. The dealers can't make the manufacturer do anything, but sometimes if you've been a good enough customer, they'll eat a small cost out of pocket to keep the customer. It's all in how you play the hand you've been dealt.

Not sure why you quoted me for your rant. But regardless of what you wish to call them, they’re still called bumpers. Try going to the parts counter and asking for a “decorative trim and sensor mounts” and see what you get. It’s been like this for a long time. I mean, I don’t disagree with you about the flimsiness of them. In fact I’d say you’re preaching to the choir here. But it is what it is. Welcome to the present.

I have bought 8 vehicles from them in 10 years! My paint started peeling off my front bumper on my bought brand new 2022 Warlock at about 1 year of owning it. Never had time to bring it in working so much! I retired in December. I bring it in to fix the heated steering wheel that also never worked properly now that’s out of warranty now had to pay for a new steering wheel and clock spring. I just get a call from dealership saying the bumper is not covered because it’s not corrosion. I’m like no kidding! It was a bad prep job before it was painted at factory! The customer service is not there anymore!

Sounds like your life was too busy to get important things done. So you made the choice the let your truck go to heck.

All you can do now is get it fixed. Pay the price, or get rid of it.

It is what it is.

I completely understand being busy, and also procrastination. I am a master at the second one....lol

Materials are thin, paint is thinner. Not uncommon for any mfr.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Bought a used Jeep GC, 2021....from a Ford dealership...turns out the switch on the shifter was bad and when they looked at it, apparently the previous owner had a child who spilled a soft drink and it screwed up the shifter...the 'cover it all' warranty I bought (dealer) wouldn't cover it...but the dealer did...no complaints..same vehicle a bit later started throwing ALL the dash info lights on...ended up the transfer case was shot (45K miles)...the service guy said the inside was pieces of metal swimming in oil...the warranty did cover that...what makes a transfer case die at 45k????

My post wasn’t a “rant’…. but Yours might be.

Sorry if you don’t like being quoted (do you consider being quoted an insult or attack for some reason?) I quoted you for “context” only.

I kinda wish mine would start peeling, or catch a Javelina or something. I've been looking for a justification for years to order one of these bumpers:

Hey, so, I just went and looked at your truck and your bumper is full of bumper termites. It's going to get so bad it'll explode and kill a puppy in a few weeks, so just go ahead and replace it now. No need to get a second opinion, I'm an expert and I totally just did this thing I said I did.

Signed,
