Well I just ordered my V6 fan to do the swap. Also ordered 180* T-stat and some water wetter. Hopefully the temps stay down in this texas heat since I still cant tune this thing.

ok it's done. I'm satisfied with it. According to my g-tech the truck dropped .15-.20 in the 1/4 mile and knocked about .2 on my 0-60 time. Temps are definitely cooler than before (they usually stay right at the middle line on gauge) and havent creeped up any even though i cant tune the fan temps. As for cruising down the road I can go into Eco mode all the way to 79mph. Before Eco would shut off at 72mph so i anxious to see what the mpg does.

You could always wire in an over-ride switch. Couldn't be too hard to find the cooling fan relay, and peg in a switch with a diode. (activate the factory relay whenever you want)

I think if you turn on your defrost it causes the fan to come on. I do want to wire a switch when i get to install mine so that i can cool the truck down at the track

I read that like you were asking if there would be a problem doing the e-fan swap if you had the t-stat and HF tune, and there would no issue.
