Bump for Lhemis question.. I don't know man..

Btw,
I swapped out the whole E-fan, and its working just fine now. So I guess the first one just quit on me. Weird. Hope this one is a bit more reliable.

Glad it's fixed Kelli25, just sucks you had to buy another fan.

As yes you can run the efan with a clutch fan. I know some people on here did it for a bit because they removed the shroud and the old fan and couldn't get the clutch fan off so instead of putting all the old stuff on, they just threw the efan in and called it a night.

Thanks! It just make me worry when I seen my temp climbing above 205...

Yeah I hear you. That would freak me out too.

On a side note.. Apparently the new fan is a bit more inconsistent than the first. It does run cooler with temps as low as 184, but also does a bit of moving all the way up to 195. The old one was pretty consistent at around 192-194, up until it stopped totally. Was nice to finally get under the 190 mark. When I bought the 180 tstat, i was expecting 180...lol.

So is the E-fan worth it or should I just keep the old reliable clutch fan?

As I post a thread about E-Fan issues, I would still say its worth it for me. But just so you have reference, Im also running every single ''bolt on'' mod available to these trucks. So I'm not really a good objective reviewer. Trying to sap the power out of this truck was something fun and time consuming (in a good way) for me to put myself into, so every mod was worth it to me. From a power vs money standpoint, I would buy a tuner and call it a day. But we all have our reasons and goals, so hopefully my random perspective can help you choose your path. Another thing I should add that it seems as though I am in the minority concerning folks that are running Efans. I haven't read many people having issues like mine. Im just lucky that way. :naughty:
