My apologies if this has been asked somewhere before, but I did not see anything. I have a 2009 5.7 and have noticed some unusual engine behavior. On cruise control, usually between 25 and 35 mph, my engine will randomly jump up a couple hundred RPM for about a second and then go back down normal operation. Also, at around 1,100 RPM if I'm off the throttle and lightly give it a little gas, the engine will stutter like a cylinder isn't firing. It almost feels and sounds like a very quiet Jake brake. Just a little more throttle and it performs fine.
Truck has 116,000 miles. I know this can be caused buy a lot of issues (spark plugs, wires, etc), but I'm curious if anyone has had this same issue and was able to diagnose it. Would save me a lot of time and sanity. Thanks for any advice.
