I have a 07 1500. On my way to work today, it bogged down, and wouldn’t let me go above 10-15mph. As soon as this happened, I pulled into a parking lot, and turned the truck off, and back on to see if that would work. I tried resetting the battery, still nothing. I tried resetting the throttle, and that did nothing. I coasted the rest of my way to work in an effort to make it on time, but can’t seem to figure out what’s causing it. The ETC light turned on. Thanks in advance.

The flashing ETC light can be due to an abrupt change in the fuel economy. You may need to fill up the tank more than usual. It happens due to a damaged throttle controller. The system controls the air-fuel mixture that goes into the engine

Also the limiting of speed is intentional and is done by the ETC to protect the engine from damage. This is called “limp” mode, a safe mode to protect the internal parts of the engine

Unhook the plug from the throttle body and clean the terminals. Make sure when reconnecting the plug you get that sucker on real good. I had a problem with my 07 and this cleared it up . The plug wasn’t getting a good connection.

Thank you for this. I haven’t cleaned it yet since I need to feed my son. I did push it in probably 1/8” and it started running normal again.

Yeah that’s what mine needed too but I shot an electric cleaner on the plug and pins also. A dab of dielectric grease can’t hurt either. Glad it was something simple!
