Hey all, new to this site, and new to my truck....just got a 2002 Ram 4x4 and I want to put a good dual exhaust on it for a better sound without breaking the bank. Any ideas is much appreciated!

Are you wanting to do a SI/DO? You can purchase the muffler you want and have a shop fab it up for you. There are direct bolt on systems out there too. Check out Moe's Performance. Matt can give you some direction as well.

If you go to a shop figure 300-400 for a single in dual out setup.

haha, I wish that was the case here. I went to a shop and the guy quoted me $700 for the single in dual out with a knock-off flowmaster and then I asked if he would knock the price down if I provided the muffler (so I could use the flowmaster) and he said no because he only uses his custom mufflers and doesn't allow other mufflers. He wouldn't even make the kit around a muffler that I provided. I immediately walked out and ordered from flowmaster.

I think I paid around 400 bucks for my "custom" SI/DO on my F150 and it has a real Flowmaster muffler. I even had them exit at an angle out the side in front of the bumper. I DID have to provide my own tips. Gibson makes some REALLY good looking tips IMO, that don't need a clamp to install.

The best thing you can do is go on google and search for exhaust shops near you and call each of them and get a quote. Most of the big places like meineke or midas are going to be about the same but you'll eventually find a good deal at a small shop.

well i got my flowmaster 40 series cat back system... I love it and wouldnt change a thing about it. it is a SI/DO exhaust, and me and my dad put it in together in our home garage. it isnt complicated at all if you are handy with doing mods yourself. but if not maybe a friend can help you out. this will help save money and give you a nice quality sound as well.
