Can someone give me the proper fan settings for use with a 180 tstat ? About to install the thermostat, and will need to go in and readjust the fan settings. I’m running the canned tune in my I2.

I believe most tuners with the 180 stat will set the fan for 185. Not entirely sure if that’s just with the clutch fan delete though

I have the following settings with a 190 t-stat, clutch fan delete and just the OEM ac fan.
Works for me here in Florida. (I don’t tow much though.)

Cooling Fans AC On / HS Fan On 222.80 -> 210
Low MPH HS Fan On 222.80 -> 210
High Mph HS Fan On 222.80 -> 210

If you set it at 185,the fan will run almost constantly,it's usually recommended to set the fans temps at over 190,but usually not higher then 196

I’m still confused. Why so much higher than the thermostat setting?

Ok I just looked into it. Factory is a 203 tstat set to turn on the fan at 220 with no ac. If you still have the factory clutch fan +15F above the tstat should be good.

If you set it at 185,the fan will run almost constantly,it's usually recommended to set the fans temps at over 190,but usually not higher then 196

I think that depends on the setup of the truck. Depending on performance modifications and such

Nope,if you set the fan at 185,it'll run damn near constantly, ask mr greene,he recommends at least 190 as a turn on temp.Otherwise the fan will be running while going down the highway. With a 180 t-stat,the trucks run usually at 185 or just slightly above that temp, they don't run at 180.
Even if you throw a 160 or 170 t-stat in them, they'll still run at 185 on the highway. If you don't believe me,throw a 160 t-stat in and drive down the highway for aways, the truck will eventually settle in at roughly 185 as a constant temp.

Setting fan temps has a lot to do with respects to what sort of driving you do most of the time (stop and go vs. freeway) and what sort of ambient temperatures you experience in your area.

I have a 180 deg Tstat in my SRT. In my area it doesn't get desert hot nor does it get North Pole cold. My needs were to keep it cool in stop and go on hot days. When running on the freeway at cruising speeds I never see over 185 deg. In stop and go, temps spike quickly. I wanted to keep it under 200 - 205 in those conditions.

So, I set all fans, all conditions, to the following:

LS - 195
HS - 200

It did take some time to settle on the settings and I think I went into the programmer 3 times before I got the results I wanted. Those settings keep the coolant temp where I want it in stop and go, plus they keep the fans from running all the time.

180 t stat is fully open at 180, a 190 at 190. but they start to open about five degrees below the rated temp.

My truck runs at 185 all the time. If I'm towing or a racing gong up a long hill it will rise however it always returns to 185.

I had hemifever set the cut ins/ out and don't remember what they are. maybe Ill look and see, or maybe someone knows, a lot of us have his tune.

Having set the points in my charger as OP is doing I'd recomnad starting with:
LS 180, HS 186.

Note: I am not concerned with the fans running most of the time.....They are not expensive should replecemet be needed.

With a 180° t-stat, my truck runs 179-183° normally depending on ambient temp. So I set it at 189 low speed and 194 high speed.

Just a FYI, 2013s and newer run 185 no matter the t-stat according to a well known tuner.

Thanks everyone. I’ll take some suggestions and try them out. Just got the tstat installed today.
