finally installed my catch can

finally got around to installing my catch can this morning. i found that i didnt need the spacer on my truck, but i did rotate the rear hose barb up about 2 degrees to allow better run of the hose. i was not really wanting to cross the hoses, but they sure seemed to work better that way.

I trimmed them to make it neat.

Looks good--now you need to lose that factory air box.

i had to hold my OCD in check, believe me. I actually refer to it as CDO, because that's the way the letters should be !!!

There are quiet a few threads out there about it as pretty much nobody knew what it was until they joined here. From what I understand, the PCV allows the back pressure air to circulate back into the intake manifold. With this back pressure comes oil, which is being dumped into the intake, mixing with your octane. This in turn will decrease your octane and performance down the road. The catch can allows the air to continue to flow through, but catches the oil that comes with it so it is not circulated through places it shouldnt circulate through.

The hoses are supplied by the distributor and come with the catch can. They are just cut long initially to make sure you're not short changed and need to buy a longer hose. I cut mine to make it look cleaner so there weren't a lot of bends in them, and they didn't cross because of this. Edit: I ordered mine through Moes Performance, a vendor on here. Bully's Performace is another vendor that sales them.

Nothing but asthetics. The can will work either way, there is no "inlet" and "outlet" poet.

I had the catch can on my '11 for 1500 miles and I had about a tablespoon of oil in it already.
