First oil change

I purchased my 2019 5.7 powered Warlock with about 5000 miles on it, now I am at 10000 and am going to do an oil change. I have determined from this forum that I should use Penzoil Ultra Platinum, but what weight should I use and what is the preferred filter? Thanks for your help.

I use whatever weight is on the cap. My truck is 5w-30. Penzoil is perfectly fine as is most Brands (Mobile 1, Redline, Royal Purple etc) as far as filters use any but I recommend any filter rated for synthetic. This is due to them having a higher mileage rating before bypass. Standard filters will bypass between 3-4k miles. I personally run Penzoil and Mopar Filter (usually use Fram Ultra but since I work at a dealership I just have it done here)

I tried mobile 1 the first change on my new truck ,it clattered so bad I had my neighbor drive me to a parts store ,then drained that shif . Bought some pup next ,it was okay . Next time I swapped to Redline 5w30 and was pleasantly impressed by how the engine now sounded ,hardly any noise .just the injectors working as they should.

I have been using 10-20 pup with a fram ultra on my 2016 5.7 with 50000 miles . No tick, runs fine.

My 2019 classic 5.7 is running better on pennzoil ultra platinum 5w20 than any other oil I’ve used. I use a mopar filter

oil filter thread is a great read, personally I prefer royal purple 20-820, but there are other choices. When you are out of warranty go 5w30.
