I have a 2011 ram 5.7 4x4
I’m running 24x14 rim on 35 tire...

my differential cover looks like it has a slight leak
I want to change out my gear from factory to 4.56 gears. Are they good for city and freeway? Also it’s a 4x4 so I gotta have them change both of them... while there at it I want to put limited slip differential... what is everything that I need to buy from moes performance. From1-10 so I can have my mechanic just charge for labor...

also If u guys suggest something other then 4.56?

Thank you in advance for you help and any suggestions!

I recently investigated something similar for my 2010. Wanted to change my standard 3:55 rear to anti-slip. No ratio change, just go from open to posi rear. Nothing to change up front.
Parts were roughly $600, cheapest labor quote I got was $750, highest was $1100. So $1350-$1700 just to make two stripes on burnouts.

This is just to give you some idea of costs.
What you want to do would be in the thousands to accomplish.

^^^This! I also wanted to go from 3.55 to 4.56 (also a 4x4). Besides the cost being astronomical, I tried 3 different shops, and wasn't even able to get a quote/estimate. It would be an awesome mod, but more of a job than I feel confident doing myself.

So I have 3.55's and my best friend has 3.92's, and I drove it one day when he got drunk at a giants game, night and day. I can't get my tires to break if I tried, you have to be careful not to break the tires when launch with his truck.

And 3.92's are a direct fit, no shaving that is needed for the 4.56. I hear 4.10's are a direct fit, but I'm not 100 on that, I know 3.92's are, and for a 35 tire it would be a nice upgrade, add pedal commander as well, I'm sure you will be happy with results. Yes if you have the money go 4.56, it will cost more to install and drive on freeway, you might want to keep it at 65mph on freeway.

You could just try a pedal commander and see if that little extra will make you happy. Poor mans gear swap, not as good as the real thing, but most people like it.

I have 3.55 and 6sp. Been looking to re-gear. Pedal commander makes a big difference in my opinion. I ended up getting one. Very happy with it.As far as re-gearing, 3.55 to 3.92, isn't worth the money. 4.10 and above is a way to go. But, I am staying with 33" tires and it's fast enough for me from dead stop. Once, I am going, the truck is good to go.
