2016 2500 diesel 80,000 miles. On our way to Arizona pulling fifth wheel trailer we developed a hollow grinding noise. Around the same time a warning came up. Something about Service FWD. It came on and went away about three times. Took it to a dealer. They said it was both front wheel bearings so we had them replace both. The noise did not go away. Now they said it is probably the front differential carrier bearings because it is rusty down there. We are going for a second opinion. Any thoughts.

Sounds like they're grabbing for straws. "Rusty down there" doesn't mean much unless they're talking about rust *inside* the front diff (which I doubt that's what they're saying). Driveline noises should be easy to figure out.
