Has anyone done a comparison on x pipe over h pipe on our trucks? I'm not very knowledgable about the benefits of which is better and google doesn't help because it's got mixed answers.

It's simple physics ... choose the path of least resistance which is the x-pipe. A hard turn in the gas path is to be avoided as it slows the gas, cooling down in the process and reduces flow.

Engine masters just did a test on this. The H pipe made more power down low and the X pipe made more power up top. In both situations, you're talking 3-4 hp that's not noticeable in the car/truck. It comes down to packaging and what's easier to install within your setup. The x pipe also sounded better. Honestly, it'd be hard for me to do either, as most dual in dual out mufflers have crossovers built in so it not only helps scavenging, it's cheaper, easier, will yield very similar results and you only have to buy the muffler. Unless you're getting straight pipes of course

Yea down the road I was looking at going dual 2.5" with carven tr mufflers and arh long tubes so was trying to figure out which would be better. I may look up that episode and watch it but that's good to know.

Yea check it out definitely shows everything you need to know. My opinion is, if I went true dual, I'd still do a dual in dual out muffler and take advantage of everything in the package you get. It'll help take some of the rasp away as well. Just my preference on sound

Keep updated on your set up, always good to hear different things
