I noticed when I have my phone either plugged into and playing through the radio OR on Bluetooth, if I turn too hard, or accelerate out of a turn to fast, it likes to randomly change to either the radio, or another song, or even shut off my audio books. Sorry if this was talked about before, did a search feature and wasn't successful. This is on a 16 ram sport with 8.4 alpine unit. Anyone else notice this? My phone doesn't move nor does the connection, so this is really weird.

You sure you are not pressing the steering wheel controls?

oh yeah. Hand stays on the outter edge. noticed it 3 times today. Once coming out of the drive way, once making a right hand turn, and another just experimenting. I've seen the trucks have had their issues. Just wondering if anyone had the same problem.

You got another Bluetooth device you can pair and check out? I am wondering if you got some weird EMI thing going on?

Like Hootbro said, try another device, preferably with another cord. See if you can isolate the issue to either the vehicle, device or cord.

That's a weird one though. Good luck!

I would take It to the dealer, sounds like a possible clock spring problem.

yeah tried with Bluetooth and cable... it was hit or miss whether it would do it. But it does go in tomorrow for a 2nd key program. Ill talk to the service guys and see if they can duplicate it.

I'd say either the clockspring or you hit the button when you turn. 50% of the time I hit the windshield wiper when I turn on the right blinker.

Is this like a muffler bearing problem? never heard of a clock spring problem.

Haha, no its not like blinker fluid. Its a type of electrical connection that the contacts "slide" on each other. It keeps your wiring from getting twisted around the steering wheel shaft when you turn. Google is your friend on this.

When you turn hard its possible the radio is seeing a clock spring malfunction that is simulating you hitting the buttons on the back of the steering wheel.

Do yourself a favor and see if you can duplicate and show the problem to the service advisor at the dealership. The tech is maybe at best going to try two times to duplicate and kick it back as "could not duplicate" if he does not see it and send you down the road. That way, the service advisor if he seen the problem, can push the tech to look at it more if they push back as not being able to duplicate it.
