Hi folks, I'm considering a Thuren .5" front and rear for my 3500 with the AEV 17x8.5" rims and Toyo AT3 35x11.5".

Does anyone have something resembling that setup? I really don't like when tires poke out beyond the fenders, so I'm curious how the narrower wheels and tire would look. I assume it would fit with no rubbing as lots of people are fitting larger tires...

Thanks!

While I agree that is a great size tire, the load range C may be an issue for your 1 ton truck.

That's a fair point. I figured with the derated progressive rear springs the tires could go down as well. It's still more than enough payload to match a 2500, I think.

The 35x12.5 is a bit higher rating, but I'm worried they will poke out and/or rub. I suppose I could get the power wagon fender flares to cover any poke.

My opinion is that even a load range d tire doesnt belong on a hd truck, let alone a load range c.

I run 35x12.5 tires on my power wagon wheels. No poke out, no rub.

Thanks, thats a good data point. Do you happen to know what the offset and backspacing is for the power wagon wheels?

Also, technically the letter isn't associated with the weight capacity. It's what the max PSI is, right? The load rating is a number like 118Q or similar.

Edit: It looks like the offset of the OEM power wagon wheels is +42mm, which is a bit more tucked in than the AEV wheels, which is +27mm. Seems like a 12.5" will fit for sure and might only poke out an add'l 15mm.

I finally got the truck today. Interestingly enough, what I thought were aftermarket wheels appear to be the ram 2500 17x8 alloys that seem to be identical to the power wagon except for the machined lip. Maybe I'll just hold off on wheels and try to shove a 35x12.5 on there and see what fits!

You sure they are not 18’s? The only ram that comes with 17’s is the power wagon that I am aware of (aside from tradesman’s with the steel wheels). They do have a rim that resembles the power wagon wheel, but it is an 18.

Either way, 35’s will fit.

It's definitely a 17". The tires are 285/70r17. 2020-11-09 14.04.08.jpg

Looking at leveling my 14 3500 CCLB I was going back and forth with carli or thuren coils and fox shocks then I came across a rough country 3in coil 1” rear block with shocks for $400 is that too good to be true and you get what you pay for or does anyone had any experience with this kit is it worth the money you save or am I going to have issues down the road

Ended up getting 35x12.5 BFG KO2s. Mounted on the power wagon wheels they fit with no rub. Pokes out a tiny bit up front, so I may end up also ordering the OEM power wagon fender flares and mud flaps. So far I like it!

You get what you pay for. Definitely go with Carli or Thuren over rough country. RC is not even worth the little money they charge for their product.

Hey guys, I thought I would follow up with one more picture now that I have the suspension installed

The truck is 2018 3500 g56. Wheels are OEM Power Wagon. Tires are BFG KO2 in 35x12.5.
Suspension is the full Thurens setup. .5" soft coils, .5" leaf springs, track bar, sway bar, bump stops and King 2.5s all around.

I wish I had measured the before and after but the whole truck seems more like 1.5"+ taller than before, but maybe it needs to settle in a bit. Anyhow, super happy with the ride and the look. You can see the before pic one page back.

NOT LIFTED - NOT LEVELED - STOCK TIRE SIZE

I finally got permission to get some wheels and tires for the for the truck though 2+ years after new

I was going to get the Method 305HD but my better half picked out a slightly less expensive set of Method 306 Mesh Series Wheels. With a bright red truck and so much chrome it was hard to find any that looked ok but the 306 Mesh wheels come with stainless bolts in the rims that tie in the chrome. No Lifted. Not leveled. Stock height & stock tire size...

Wheel Diameter 18"

Width 9"

Bolt Pattern 8x6.5

Offset +18 mm

Bore 130.81 mm

Backside Spacing 5.75"

Wheel Weight 32.0 LBS

Max Load 3600 LBS

Finally pulling the trigger on 2.5 thuren coils track bar and fox shocks what tires everyone running on these heavy trucks and what kind of life/mileage are you getting out of them I’m thinking about running 325/65/18 on some black rhino 18/9.5/-12 offset should I be ready to trim or will I clear these tna

Here's mine. 2016 Ram 2500 Big Horn Mega Cab.
5" RC lift with springs and radius arms
24x14 -76 Hostile Alpha's on 35x13.50 AMP M/Ts. Waiting for my 35x15.50 Venoms to come in

I know there is a lot of hate for the RC lifts here, but I don't do any offroading, I just like the look. So I really had no need for a $4k lift that I will never use to it's capability. I do at least tow my 27' boat every weekend, so I at least use my truck lol
