My headlights are always staying on in auto mode, even when it is sunny out. They never shut off. Any ideas on what this could be? Almost would have to be the light sensor in the middle of the dash. But I cant seem to find a part number for a replacement.

Questions:
Is it just the headlights or are the tail lights/running lights on as well ?
Is this a new problem ?
If bought used, is this a Canada market vehicle ?

It is a truck from Canada. So the DRL's are always on, which is fine. That is just the turn signals. But when headlights are in auto, the headlights and taillights are always on, as well as the DRL turn signals. When I turn the headlights to the off position, only the DRL turn signals come on. It has been doing this for months. But would like to get it fixed so I can put in some low beam hid's. And there is nothing on the dash covering the sensor.

This is the part number dual sun sensor used in trucks with ATC. Trucks with MTC only have the single sun sensor for headlight control, but the dual one works also.

Great, thanks. Mine has ATC. It's a lot cheaper than I thought. Only $25. So I'll go ahead and replace it and hope that fixes it.

Well I installed the new sensor and it's still doing the same thing. Oh well, it was worth a try. But not sure what to do now. Any other ideas? I'd hate to have to take it to the dealer.

Try taking your headlight switch apart and inspect that. It's easy and free.

Well i gave that a shot, still doing same thing. Not sure what else to do other than take it to dealer. Maybe it's a software thing.

Ok, I've seen this happen with a T-Style radio. They aren't DRLs are they?

Not DRL's, the led turn signals are the drl and that is working fine. For now, I have just been manually turning the headlights on and off.

If you have the U connect radio there is in the settings mode a way to change the time the lights stay on. Check it.
