Argggg, had a few nippy (like ice and snow) for a few days last week here in N Texas, and yes, my truck is parked outside. At first when the washer wouldnt spray I though it was frozen and made sure the sun hit the front for a couple days. Well, tried today and no spray but leaking washer fluid under my truck. The reservoir looks fine. Anyone had this happen and have suggestions to the fix? Thanks

I’ve had the nozzles break and had the hoses come undone and do exactly what you’re describing. You can get replacements from an auto parts store for the nozzles if one of those is busted. You pop the cover off the top of the hood and you’ll see the hoses and where the nozzles go. You can repair/replace yourself. I did it a couple of years ago. I’m sure there’s a good YouTube video or two showing you how. I think one of mine was just a hose that disconnected and the other was a busted nozzle. Easy fix in both cases. Service advisor said the hose issue is common after ice events IIRC, he’s the one that showed me how to pop that cover off and reconnect the hoses.

Is the hood you are talking about on the wiper arm?

lezmerk7, I developed the same issue. Did you have to remove any plastic to se/repair the hose? I have washer fluid dripping on the right side just below the headlight.

I ended up having to remove the cover under the hood (bought a tool to remove plastic anchors and new anchors for $8 on Amazon) to find that the hose had become disconnected. Put it back together and all is good. My thinking is that the back pressure from a frozen spray nozzle blew the connector apart.

Happened to me during the recent Texas Deep Freeze.

Turned out not to be an actual line-breakage….. the frozen fluid simply PUSHED the plastic line OFF the nozzle beneath the hood. I pushed it back on …. problem solved.

However, the entire system is cheap on Amazon:

I beefed up my coolant with Prestone additive for (antifreeze for windshield washer) cold weather, and haven't had a problem even in -4 degree weather.
