I heard the tuners will be here shortly for the 13s
And I'm going to get 1 just wondering do you like HemiFever or Whitelighting
Better or what one is better for your basic bolt on mods

And what kind of Hp gains should I see from one of these tunes???

hemifever for engine if you can't afford a dyno tune. he has tuned a lot if vehicles. for the trans.... hands down whitelightning. his tcm tune has transformed my truck and taken it to a whole other level.

tcm would be a much more noticeable gain.

Now what is the difference between a Dyno tune
And an actual tuner I thought a Dyno tune is the same
They have a tuner for you and just Dyno it to show the gains

Correct me if I'm wrong never did 1

no, on the tune hemi fever does, he sends you an emailed tune he has written on his computer at home or in his shop, you then test drive it and log some data for him and send it back and he adjusts it the best he can. On a dyno tune the tuner can take his time and really dial it in to squeeze out the most hp/tq. With mine it took about 6 hours to fully tune it. We did a lot of pulls on the dyno, each showing a slight gain from the previous one. Ran it up to 150-160mph so all fuel trims and timing are good from idle to max speed. It's much more in depth tuning if you go to a good shop.

On a basic bolt-on truck, probably wouldn't spend the money on a full dyno tune. hemifevers tunes are better than what is pre programmed in the tuner, and gives a little more hp and tq.

whitelightnings tune is the same as henifevers emailed tunes, however his trans tunes are flat out impressive.

To give you an idea, I was running ahemifever tune before I had it dyno tuned. there was a lot of room on the table power wise between the two tunes. I am also running whitelightning tcm tune. the combo between the two is nuts. Really ties all my mods together nicely. I can consistently scratch second with about half throttle on my first to second shift.

low 14's or high 13's is possible with all boltons and hemifever/whitelightning tune. might have a hard time here though since our air sucks. but if you take a drive to Houston in the fall, i think you will like your times there.

but if interested in a dyno tune, might hit up George at Boost Performance here to get a quote on how much he'd charge

My dyno tune ran $600 for 6hrs of tuning and as many pulls on the dyno as needed to tune it. Not cheap. my whitelightning tune ran $40. If you already have the programmer, I would run a base tune for the engine and run whitelightning trans tune until you get more bolt ons. but that's just my opinion.

it all depends on how you feel your trans if you feel it slugglish or dont like the way it shifts or smoething like that go with the tune from wl....but also hemifever has tuned tons of trucks and with great results....i personally dont have a tuner yet but if anything i will give hemifever a try first. Imo

while hf has tuned tons of trucks over the years, it has all been engine tunes (pcm) up until this last year, then he started in on the trans (TCM) tunes. I'm not ragging on the him by any means, his pcm tunes work, he has tuned god knows how many hemi/cam combos over the years with good results, I ran one of his engine tunes for my cam for a few years before getting a full on dyno tune. All I am saying it's that for trans tuning, from my past experiences, he's behind the 8 ball on them compared to WL's.

As far as pcm vs tcm tuning. A pcm tune will give you a little more hp over the preloaded tunes, there will be a little more felt power on the top end and a little more torque on the low-end. If you are just looking at hp/tq numbers that's your route. On the flip side, a tcm tune will not add any more hp/tq than what you already have (after loading a preloaded engine tune) , HOWEVER it will tell the truck how to actually USE that power, and use it a hell of a lot better than the preloaded or user adjustable settings in the tuner.

It's ultimately your choice, you have to learn your own way. I have gone through the plain Jane Diablo preloaded tunes, I've done the user adjustable settings on the Diablo tuner, I've done the hf tuning route, I've done the full dyno tuning route, and I've done the WL tuning route. All things considered my truck has never performed better than it does now with the dyno/WL tuning combo.
