Just installed my canned tune in my '10 Big Horn edition and I'm getting ready to send my info to Sean for my custom tune.

Wondering about things like MDS and throttle boost percentage. Will I still be able to adjust or change those independently of the custom tune or do I need to tell him how I want them set?

Also he is requesting available octane levels in my area which I have. Do I tell him my preferred level for the tune also?

Just need these tidbits and I'm sending my info.

Thanks!

He will adjust throttle boast to full, from there you can adjust it further.

He raises the throttle boost for you, so I wouldn't mess with that. As for MDS, he will turn it off for you if you ask him to, but you always have the ability to turn it on or off anytime you want with the handheld.

He is going to send you 2 tunes, so he just needs to know what to send you for the high octane and low octane tune.

So I can have one tune set for towing out 28' travel trailer and one for a zippy daily driver?

Even the 93 octane the is safe for towing, so you shouldn't need to switch tunes unless you just want to use a lower grade fuel.

Yup...but you cannot switch them on the fly...you will have to load them and that takes a little time.

Great! I'll likely use the 89 more since it's more readily available. And 92-93 is stupid expensive.

Just let him know that, and he will send you both an 89 and 93 tune. You don't have to use the 93 tune, but you always have that option.

Sounds like a plan. Does he adjust shift firmness and is is something that has to be requested?

Trans tuning is included, so that will be in both tunes.

I ran the canned tune last night and can say it was a noticeable change in power and response.

Loading the Hemifever tune now so I will know after driving to work tonight but I'm expecting even better things.

Oh I will if I can ever get it to load from my Pc to the handheld. Not the easiest system to work with by any means. My daughter is a programmer and has been on it for over an hour so far with no luck.

Finally! Called DS tech support, was trying to use the DS downloader as instructed and did not need it for the i2 handheld.

Sure do miss the wrench and screwdriver method of tuning a vehicle.

While you guys are at it with tuner questions. I have one of my own. Been running 89 HF exclusivley for over a year. I am going drag racing in the sand for a weekensand wanna run 91 or 93. How long (as in # of days) for the computer/engine take to relearn on this tune? As ive seen frequently on the forums.

So I got my custom tunes. I started with the 87/89 tune because I had mid grade fuel in tank. Once 1/4 empty I refueled with 91 premium and installed the 93 tune. Noticed it kinda sounds like it bogs down during low speeds in town. Is that a problem? Should I reinstall the 87/89 tune?
