So in a perfect world we would test our compression every 10k miles and know the number, when you start to loose compression and every engine will do so as it ages, move to thicker oil, you will get some of the compression back. Whether or not that is 75k miles is a completely different conversation. My thought is it would be a little longer, but no real experience to back that up, just a guess.
My 1999 Dodge 5.9 Magnum started to eat synthetic oil at about 150k, running 5w30. Switched to 10w40 High Milage Conventional oil and it cut my oil consumption by 50%.
My gf little Honda with the 1.8 development oil leaks using synthetic oil at 133k, running 0w20. Switched to a High mileage synthetic blend in 5w20 and all the leaks slowly dried up.
There is a time in every engine life that will benefit from High mileage oils imo.
The full synthetic High mileage oils are not as affective imo. Those oil is what caused the oil leaks in my gf Honda.
The market is full of oil options, and conventional High mileage oils are a great tool when you need it.
It's a 2012.What year is that Honda? Thanks
It's a 2012.
