I did a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for. I switched from duals to quads....is there a simple mod to keep the lows on when I turn the highs on? Thanks!

Great Question that I am looking for the answer to as well. I have a 2012 Express and just swapped from dual to Quad Headlamps today and I would like to know how to get the High Beams to stay on with the Low Beams. Any help would be appreciated.

You could try and have the sales code added for quad headlights to see if that would work. When I did this swap on my last truck I never got around to having it added to see if it would work. Try searching sales code. I don't remember off hand what it is but there are a few threads with it.

Sales code? You mean having the dealer add it to the PCM?

yes, but most have no clue .........

I don't even remember the code.

I sell a diode that does this, but I do NOT recommend it for halogen use, only HIDs in the lows. Will it work with halogens, sure.....but I only recommend using it as a means to tell the HIDs to stay on.

Here's the diode, sold individually (as its only meant to be a trigger on the driver's side) https://shop.retroshop.us/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Diode

Its a simple pass through H13 connection. Plug between the OEM plug and the headlight plug. Done.

Jeremy,

Thanks for the reply. So what your saying is that the wiring harness that you sell could potentially have problems, as it will have too much power passing through it and could overheat and melt? Is there another solution if that is the case? Also, if we did choose to buy the harness and the HID's from you we will need to buy both the H11 and 9005 Kits from you in order to safely use that harness?

Its just not tested for it. It would probably be perfectly fine, but ........ I dont like trusting a TIPM to it, ya know?

Wouldn't need 2 kits, unless you just absolutely wanted it. I have plenty of guys using this setup with a H11 kit (or projectors, whatever) - and stock high beams. Most do this because they swapped to the projector setup, and want the bixenon part of the projector to work. ;)

OK thanks Jeremy,

How about splicing in a simple relay in the headlight harness? Do you think that would be a better or safer option? I am familiar with relays and how they work and it seems like this may be a good option as well if I run the power directly from the battery (with a fuse) this way I will not overload any headlight wiring....It was just something I thought of....

Forgive me if a relay and a diode are the same thing...lol Are they? or are they just similar in how they function?

notta - the relay is what provides power from the battery, etc. Diode is just something that tells power to still go to the lows when the highs are on.

OK..... It took me a few days to get it done but I was able to pick up a few fuses and a few 4 pin relays. I hard wired them in and now I have no problems what so ever. The high and low beams work together just like they should. Thanks for the help guys. If one one else needs more info let me know and Ill help.
