Thanks man! They look pretty homely before the mods, don't they.

I loved the new Jeeps. I was in the market for a 4dr Rubicon or Sahara when I found my Ram.

Hold on y'all!!!!!!! Here we go again. LOL David--not sure about the above post--I'd have to say the jury is still out on that driving style stuff-----
Jay

Yep, time to rock this build! I'm gonna have to corner a lot slower to keep it on two wheels!

Congrats! Hope you like it it. I hated mine and traded for the Ram...

I'll like it for a couple years... I never keep cars longer long enough to hate them. ;) Wait, except for my Mustang, I hated that thing within a month. :puke:

Oh, that thing is perfect for California weather.

Definitely! Top off, doors off!

Nice man! Standard or automatic?

Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

Thanks! Automatic... To much traffic in my area to be for a stick.

Yay! Jeep updates! Looks good David.

Thanks man!

Yes sir, where have you been?! The truck's sold and the new owner already blew the transmission!

I have always loved Jeeps, had 3 Grand Cherokees and always wanted a Wrangler since I was about 21. Now at 40, here it is! It's a completely different feeling driving this thing, compared to the Ram. It's the first vehicle I have owned with a solid front axle...

I already took part of the dash apart to see where I am putting my amps for the audio build that is already in progress. :naughty:

This is is what is on order for the audio:

- Hertz Mille 2way powered by Arc Amp with 600 watts rms to the speakers

- Sundown 10" subwoofer, and amp with 2,000 watts rms

It will be active with a dsp, and NetAudio will be building a ported box that will fill the entire trunk space. I ordered nice quality wire, rcas, sound deadening, etc..

man.... your ram was one of my favorites on here, very close to blacksheeps bagged ccsb. let me know if your box builders bails, im not too far from you and build boxes that are very affordable.

Thanks guys! Here is what I have done aside from audio: MF exhaust, Bora 1.5" spacers, Drake handle inserts, fuel door, Carolina Metal Masters hood de-snubbers, foot man loop, grab handles & bar, Rugged Ridge hood latches, LED headlights and fog lights, cleared out signals and side markers, dash cam, etc..

New Fox shocks and springs are going in this week. :naughty: 150lbs of audio in the trunk is giving the little Jeep a little bit of a Cali lean, lol! The springs are only about 1" of lift, but they are much stiffer as are the shocks. Stock this thing feels like it is going to somersault when you hit the brakes!

All in all, this thing is great fun to drive and I am really enjoying it! :)

Oh and as is my habit, I like making stuff out of aluminum. The little handle inserts on my doors needed a little bling. Also, I tried 4 different phone mounts and none of them work so I made a little bracket and used half of one of the mounts. Very clean and low profile, imho.

And the most important mod of all, shorty antenna, this thing is tiny! Made out of billet aluminum, not plastic though. :naughty:

Cut out some Xpell protective film as door sill guards (that area is prone to scuffing and scratching on the Jeeps) and added Smittybilt rocker panel guards.

Thanks man! I am agonizing over the wheels. Lol

I really like the AEV Savegres, but I have been hearing of some problems with the finish on them, so I don't know.

Sorry to see the truck go but I really like the Jeep! That's the beauty of my marriage... Wife has been cool with me getting all this stuff for my Ram and she wants a Jeep Wrangler 2 door. We are currently just browsing for one. I like those wheels you have picked out! Always such a hard decision.

Just found this thread. Sorry to see the truck go Dave.

What were your final impressions of the cut outs you put on?

Thanks man! Get your wife the Jeep! I ordered mine from the factory because the config I wanted was nowhere in the country... :favorites13:

Thanks man! The cutout was one of my favorite mods... Crazy loud and it felt different with it open, more noticeable at higher rpms. I did not have any problems at all, and then new owner loves it too! Lol

Not a fan of the pseudo Jeeps that have been produced in the last 25 years or so...I'd love to get my hands on an old CJ8 Scrambler and a J-10 Honcho.

Jeeps are meant to be utilitarian workhorses, not blinged out grocery getters.

Jeeps, like any other vehicle are "meant" to be whatever the owner of that Jeep wants them to be, and to be used in any manner they wish...
If it wasn't for those Jeep buyers that buy them to be "blinged out grocery getters", the Wrangler would no longer be in production. Why? Because there aren't enough hardcore, off-road Jeep enthusiasts on the planet to support a full scale production vehicle.
Other than that, I completely agree with you. :roflsquared:

Fyi, I lowered my Ram, kept it's engine bay clean enough to eat off of, and never hauled anything in it's bed. Is that wrong?

Cheers, brotha :favorites13:

Although I somewhat agree with you that's what they were originally built for, that's not what 90% of the people who have them now use them for. People can spend their money however they want. As long as they are happy, then all is good.

Many things that we commonly use, were originally built with a different purpose... I can't tell you how many things I have bought off of late night TV infomercials that were "developed by NASA" and now I can have them for only $19.95. "BUT WAIT..."

Is your jeep getting better mileage than your truck or about the same? If I recall correctly the new jeeps have a 5 speed auto. I see a new transmission somewhere in its future. With the 8 and 9 speeds that chrysler is using in other vehicles im surprised they haven't integrated it into the wrangler.
