It sounds like you're just guessing too.

Harry's post was not clear, regardless of your best guess.

After many years of hearing technical complaints from Engineers to administrative clerks (non-technical people), I've learned to clarify exactly what people are referencing unless it is painfully obvious.

I try to limit my assumptions to streamline the path to a successful solution, rather than best guess.

Otherwise, I agree with everything you have said.

.

Sounds like? Of course I'm guessing. Just like you do with 95% of your posts.

It's not my truck, I don't know what has done, or not done.

What he posted was VERY CLEAR, if you have any experience with playing with Rams.

When we had 100's of Rams, we did it on purpose so drivers couldn't play with certain settings.

How do solve the Ops issue is different story.

@SitKneelBend response just above yours, is his guess from his experience and very good chance to solve the Op's issue. I totally forgot about it. AlfaODB tells you do that after making certain changes.

I don't understand what you're trying to say.

Were you able to create the same CSM on your Uconnect radio as the one I presented in post #6?

And you were able to select 'Second Press' with the touch screen but this would then revert to the off position?

.
Yes, and yes.

Hmmm. I made the change in ALFA to option 3, under allow horn chirp. Which then, after several key cycles, brought up the option for horn honk on lock in settings, doors and locks. And it gives me three options. one press or two presses or off.. I had the option originally for horn honk on lock. "Off" or "on". Now I have 3 options, "off" "1 press" and "2 Presses". When I select either 1 or 2 press, it allows the change, and then after a second or 2, reverts to off. With the original setting of on or off, it works properly. I will try it once again and see what happens.

My horn beeps when I hit the lock button on the outside door or the fob, just one push, it will not beep when I use the lock button on the inside door switches.
I presume you don't want the beep?
I want the option of beeping on the second button press. That way I can choose if it honks or not.

Ok, I did another session with ALFA, I have 3 options in car config for horn. CBC Features; horn chirp allowed. Cust. Set. Menu 1-Sound horn with remote lock CSM present. Cust. Prog.Features-sound horn on Lock.
The CSM 1 sound horn with remote lock is where I have the option for Off, Option 2 and Option 3. Option 2 gives you off or on choices in settings on the radio. Option 3 gives you 3 choices on the radio, off, 1 press and 2 presses. I reset everything, and with option 3, I can't select anything but off. It tells me I have something set wrong, but what? Thanks for the help.

Ok, I reset everything, and here are the settings I have for horn. CSM sound horn with remote lock Feature 2 option 3, cust. prog. features; sound horn on lock: not enabled. Horn chirp allowed: yes. It will not allow me to select either 1st press or 2nd press.

Have you already reset the radio ECU?

I was going to suggest that you disable horn on lock, now you're there.

I'd suggest you leave it set for a few days and see if your problems are solved. I've had to wait a few days for some of the tweaks to arrive.

And/or try SKB's reset solution.

It would be simpler to read in the format below.

1 - CSM sound horn with remote lock Feature 2 option 3,
2 - cust. prog. features; sound horn on lock: not enabled.
3 - Horn chirp allowed: yes.

No, I haven't. Should I?
Yeah give that a try then give it some time. It doesn't do anything drastic but you may see some weird things when it boots like an SRT logo and off-road/performance pages being installed.

I don't think on this year, it is a option, but I have never really looked for it , I had turned my chirp off, but later have it back on, as when in town ,I like to hear the chirp to make sure truck is looked.
The wife's 2008 Honda, you have to hit the button 2x to hear a chirp, but you also have to hit it 2x to unlock all the doors.
On my truck, I have all the doors open, and lock with one push, not that that would change anything, ??
When at home ,I just use the inside door button to lock th doors if in the garage and I don't want the noise.
