I'd like to have my horn chirp on the second lock press. I checked Alfa and there was 2 options for horn on lock, but I don't know what those options are? Any help would be appreciated.

I think you are referring to the CSM (Customer Settings Menu) for the horn chirp. If that is enabled that option should be available in your radio's options screen (maybe in the cluster for lower trims).I'd like to have my horn chirp on the second lock press. The only choice on the radio is yes/no. No other options. Can't you change that setting in your radio? I am pretty sure I could in my 2016
Right. I can turn it on or off, but it only honks on the first button press of lock, I want it to honk on the second lock press.I think you are referring to the CSM (Customer Settings Menu) for the horn chirp. And you do have a much newer truck as well.
How long did you wait before trying to set it from the CSM? PM me your gmail and I'll send you a link to my settings to see if they differ from yours...I was able to select chirp on lock option 3, which gives me the first or second press horn, but I couldn't select either on of them, just off. I put it back where it was. Any other ideas?
^^^^How long did you wait before trying to set it from the CSM?
I use the 14' settings. The setting was there, I just couldn't select anything but off. It would click, the checkmark would appear, then drop out, back to off. I waited a day. Several key cycles
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
Were you able to create the same CSM on your Uconnect radio as the one I presented in post #6?
And you were able to select 'Second Press' with the touch screen but this would then revert to the off position?
.
Yes, but it came from the factory that way (at least with the option already present when I installed an 8.4" radio).^^^^
This.
I've discovered that some tweaks take several days or ignition cycles to appear while others are faster.
And then sometimes they just never appear. IIRC, I use the 2019 PowerNet for my '21, HarryS, which ECU setting works on your truck?
SitKneelBend, are you able to set the horn chirp to second press with your 2014?
.
There is a setting if you connect directly to the radio with AlfaOBD that lets you reset the ECU of the radio. I have heard of this reset fixing things like this before for folks trying to add features. It pretty much forces the radio to read the BCM again to get the installed features (similar to what happens after firmware flashes). Turn the settings back on you are trying to add then Reset the ECU (be sure you are doing it for the radio, "reset ECU" is an option in lots of modules).I use the 14' settings. The setting was there, I just couldn't select anything but off. It would click, the checkmark would appear, then drop out, back to off. I waited a day. Several key cycles
What he is talking about is this. He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
He made change in AlfaOBD, But AlfaOBD "hard coded" change, cause firmware isn't fully supported, or missed an option. So now if he goes to screen and tries to make a change he can't. AlfaOBD change is overwriting the screen change.
Happens when you don't enable/select all correct the options to turn on feature and/or version of software in his truck doesn't really have it.
Sometimes upgrading software will solve it.
If @SitKneelBend made the change on his truck, he should follow the settings as Sit likely made all correct changes.
Other thing he should be able to do, is set AlfaOBD to setting he wants, but screen will not show it/be able to change it..
I would check firmware version though.
I also think he's playing with wrong setting. Been while I can't remember how to just turn the feature on the screen vs set the setting.
Edit. Just thought I'd mention, it could also be missing hardware. I don't know enough about that year/trim to know, possible anyway
My horn beeps when I hit the lock button on the outside door or the fob, just one push, it will not beep when I use the lock button on the inside door switches.I use the 14' settings.
