It shouldn't matter if you get seats from a 1500, 2500 or 3500 as long as they have the options you want. I got mine from Car-Part.com. They were out of the truck laying in the bed. I was worried they would be messed up too but they cleaned up fine. You can ask for detailed pics before you buy.

Yes. I bought custom covers from leatherseats.com and did it myself. It wasn't too bad. I was pretty impressed with their product. I have never done upholstery before but they fit absolutely perfect. And no the wife wasn't really happy I decided to upholster them in the house!

I got mine from Seats and Such, way back. I only bought the front seats since I have a regular cab. A big issue for me because I have the floor shifted transfer case, I can only have the jumpseat console. Finding a black Laramie or sport jumpseat is very difficult, so I wound up having to recover mine with aftermarket leather.

Does anyone have a recommended place for purchasing their seats?? Are most people using eBay or car-part? Using car-part kinda scares me because you won't really know if the seats have been in the weather or not.

I purchased my seats through Car-Part.

Just be careful with the HD seats because some don't have side airbags. I'm not sure if it's only 4500/5500 but I know they exist.

My 2014 3500 RC DRW HD has airbags in the seats, maybe Cab and Chassis do not have them?

Mine were from car-part as well. Came quick, cleaned up nice. We're damp when they made it here but cleaned up nice. Remember most of those guys are like parts counter employees they are salesmen.

I'm going to tear mine down and clean up the base. These and most interior parts are raw steel so the get surface rust if a wet fart blows on them so don't get excited if they are or look rusty. Most will put a 90 day warranty on them as well.

Local salvage yard. They are not the nice leather Laramie heated and cooled seats like some of these guys have installed. But they are from a 16 Big Horn, with only 8,500 miles on it. Mint condition, was able to lay my eyes on them before purchase, have power and heat, and got a great deal on them, no shipping costs. Another factor for me, was being able to reuse the seat covers I had originally used over the oem Express seats.... really didn't want to spend the money for another set.

I've been working on putting a schematic together that incorporates Rick's and 00R/T's work and the research that I have done into the same format that cptwing and mpgrimm2 has done for the RA4 conversion. Here is my first draft. I'll keep making updates to it over the next several days.

HeatedSeatSchematics_zpsltw019xz.jpg

FYI, I updated the schematic today to show all of the correct terminal numbers as well as added a connection matrix. I'm still working out all of the back seat wiring, but I'll get it added soon also.

**Note: The wiring color does not reflect actual factory wiring colors. I just used different colors to delineate the different wires on the schematic.

Thanks. They have been on for almost two years and seem to be holding up well. They are not to bad to install if you take your time. There are several videos on You Tube that can walk you through it. Tim at Leatherseats.com was very helpful with any questions I had. I decided to do in myself because the prices quoted to me to install them were ridiculous. One place wanted almost 1000.00 the best price I was around 600.00 if I brought the seats to them and they seemed kind of shady. They said it was so high because aftermarket seat covers do not fit as well as factory and it took a lot of work to remove the wrinkles. I bought a 30.00 garment steamer from Walmart and I experienced no fitment issues at all. Once I got the hang of it and how to attach the hog rings it was actually kind of fun to do.

Very nice this will help a lot of folks I'm sure, but don't be surprised if your work gets "plagiarized" and used to make money with.

How much did they run you for the covers. I'm thinking of doing the fronts that I just got to jazz it up

Cptwing same particular people are also snatching all 8.4 up all over the country then sticking it to every modder in the country
And this came straight from three yards
when ra4s come in there's standing order for those Florida guys before they even get inventoried into car-part
I guess if you get everyone banned then you can have all forums business
You agree mgrimm

You're looking at $649 starting price for two leather trimmed front buckets. It goes up from there if you want fancier materials, full leather, or special options.

Tax time I know what I'm getting. I'll only need the fronts. I'd love a black on gray suede

It's capitalism. If you're willing to guarantee them you'll buy every one they get in and at a higher price, I'm sure the yard would sell to you instead.

I can't say that it doesn't suck for us, but I'm not going to fault someone for developing a successful business model, taking on the risk, and making a go of it. That's what this country is all about.
