Well that's a good bit of info there. I haven't driven the truck yet or turned the wheel CCW/CW. I'll first take off the steering wheel to double check my CS center then I'll try the "calibration" and keep my fingers crossed that does it :favorites13:

I hope to get this thread back to just the seat install soon... :buffer: but at least it does affect some folks going with the heated seat & heated wheel at the same time

Not that its the same, but it might be. When my battery died and it was a spectacular failure in a 300c. The traction light came on, I had to "calibrate" the steering angle. Which required me to turn full left, then full right. As soon as I hit the last point it went off.

I kind of went with the adage if it's not broke don't try to fix it LOL.

This is the best way. When I was coding BMWs I had a pain of a time getting the angel eyes at full birghtness at all times. They just look good for a local BMW owner. I spent an hour in the car trying every truck, voltage adder, and code in the book and nothing worked. I called the kid up told him I did everything else as there was about 20 things he wanted added or modifed that worked but those dang lights wouldnt take. He came to pick up the car, paied and thanked me for doing what I did and said the lights look great . . . I just paused and reminded him I couldnt get the code to stick. He corrected me and walked me to the running car with the headlighs on and angel eyes at full brightness. I was stumped and part of me wanted to check the coding to see what it looked like, but I didnt want to mess it up. Its not broke didnt try to fix it.

Do you have any DTCs persisting in your CSWM? Just curious.

I only had one code when I checked. It was for interior CAN performance. Not sure if it's anything that will clear up. I am going to go back in and check again later and see if it's back.

I agree with if it aint broke don't fix it. When I installed my 8.4RA4 NAV it had a valid XM subscription and the weather map/music/etc worked fine. I went poking around and accidentally hit a Uconnect button and it asked to log on, after that I lost the XM function and now have to pay... Ugh!.

Just wanted to verify I went back in with my A.E tool and double checked my codes. In my ECU memory#5 I show the Heated Wheel present but not set and I also show the Ventilated Seats present but not set. I know Deer Guy could not get his Heated Wheel or Ventilated Seats to work until he activated these two codes. All of my options work without the codes being activated, I'm really not sure why but I wanted to post it just so we can start trying to get a reference between different years and different options. I was going to activate both codes but decided not to. Everything seems to work fine I kind of went with the adage if it's not broke don't try to fix it LOL.

This was something that worked on a 9 year old car so dont take it to heart as a fix. Just something I found out by hunting around.

That was specific to the steering angle sensor in pre-PowerNet LX, Grand Cherokee, and possibly a few others. It's not applicable to the latet LX or our trucks.

Heated seat success! A HUGE thank you to both RicksRam and DeereGuy!!!! It took a group effort...as this is way way over my head and skill level....... but very happy to report that my 2016 Express, with 2016 Big Horn front seats.... now has heated seats!!!!
I also ran the wiring for the heated wheel, but have not yet swapped out the clock spring, will report back when I get to that.

I can also report that the truck is correctly registering the temperature and controlling the seats and wheel correspondingly. It was 45 here today and the truck did not kick either on automatically.

Does anyone know the connector numbers for the 4 connectors involved with this mod? 2 drivers side seat, 1 pass side seat, and the one where the 2 wires for the heated wheel go.

The only difference is where the steering wheel wires go, and I have that shown on the schematic. Unless you have a truck that already has the wiring in place like WilliamS did.

You should have all of that in the parts I sent you. The male pins I sent you are for the heated wheel connection under the dash.

Mine works great too. I am curious to see if the Ventilated Seats turn on automatically when the weather gets hotter. I am assuming they should work correctly as well.

The HD's are even worse cause you have to get the connector off of the bracket and then try to get behind it. Lol
