Hi guys, new here.

I've ordered a 2021 Ram 1500 Classic Quad cab due for delivery in Australia around December 2021. Supposedly to be a July 2021 build. It will have the standard uConnect3 with 5" display and manual A/C control. We cannot option the Electronics Group on this truck in Australia, comes standard with the 5.7 V8 and the Express Value package plus tow group.

I can buy the following radio locally from a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, wondering if it will fit the Ram Classic:

68340510AH. It has on it: MY18 GR18.8 Australia. It is out of a Jeep Compass I think.

If it will work I'll buy it and then get the conversion parts from here if possible. I'd buy the conversion harness and the climate control surround and module, plus track down a media hub to suit.

Here are some images of it, looks like the one from the OP. I've also attached a screen shot from the dash of the Australian Ram website.

Just wanted to clarify my above post. My 2021 1500 Classic won't be delivered to me until probably December. I'll worry about dual zone, getting a bezel and harness and whatever else I need once I actually get the truck (I've been discussing with Mike G via PM).
However I'd like to gab a radio whilst I can. I'm still not sure if I understand this all correctly, I've been reading through this thread and just about everything makes sense except compatibility across other FCA vehicles.
I went to my dealer in Australia a few days ago and there was a 2021 Ram 1500 Express Crew Cab in the service yard with an 8.4" screen, Nav and dual zone climate. We looked up its VIN and the part number for the screen comes up as 68461702AC and lists in the description as a UJQ. Looking at Infotainment's site, they also state that the screen they can sell me for Australia is a UJQ. Buying a radio new from Ram Australia is out of the question, they quoted about $AUD8000 which is about $US5000!

I can access in Australia, at quite reasonable prices (around $US500) either of the following, both out of Jeep Compass's:

68340510AH. MY18 GR18.8. Made April 2017 (this is the unit in the post above).
68340510AK. MY18. IR19.10. Made September 2017.

Both list up as UJQ when I search the part numbers online. I can get the VIN and radio unlock codes for both as they still have the cars with their books in them.

Will these work in the 2021 with the right harness(es), bezel and OBD changes? Or will they need firmware changes?

I messaged Infotainment to see if I posted one of these to them if they can mod it to work with a 2021 Ram 1500 Classic. Will wait and see if they respond.

I'll probably have to wait and see if a Australian delivered 1500 DS Express or Laramie with dual zone ends up in a wrecking yard and grab the HVAC unit. I got a full parts list for the Australian vehicle unique parts and apart from the bezel/controls everything looks the same between the Express (with manual A/C) and Laramie (with dual zone) other than the HVAC unit itself. It may even be the same unit just with a blend door and actuator. I'm pretty sure they made the same RHD conversion dash for both Express and Laramie and just had the different bezel, radio and whatever is extra for dual zone. But that can wait. I'll do a radio conversion as soon as the truck turns up if possible, and simply use a dual zone bezel and controls with the appropriate harness and other gear from Mike G. Then do the actual dual zone mods later once I sort out what is needed in the RHD converted vehicle.

Parts list questions and how to get the HUB harness from @Mpgrimm2

My truck is a 2016 Ram Laramie with factory options: 8.4 RA4, Dual zone 7 speed climate control, Alpine audio, heated/cooled seats

Will the following parts suffice:
RADIO: 68331631AH (UAQ)
MEDIA HUB: 68328704AC
M2 hub harness

Will I need the 2018 HVAC harness? Is this the part number: 68366552AA

What features will I lose?
What will I need to change in the BCM? If my truck has the traffic features from the factory, will I need to re-enable it after the UAQ install?

Should I use the form on https://www.m2mods4ram.com/4th-gen-ram-radio-upgrade to order the media hub harness?

Thanks!

For your truck setup with ATC ...

- Radio you picked is good.
- I recommend the Chrysler 200 USB Hub, it's a better fit for your current USB hub opening (see post 5 link).
- & the hub adapter harness

I'm message you shortly

I may have a fix for the "device not recognized" error. I'll need someone who has the error still to chime in and try it too. It worked for me so far.

For those who know Android, try turning off "USB Debugging" in the developer options menu. For anyone who wants to try but doesn't know Android, PM me...

Completed my upgrade over the weekend. I was nervous that I was having issues, but a battery disconnect and a little time seemed to solve my issues

2017 Ram 1500

Hardware used:
RADIO: 68461699AC (UAQ)
MEDIA HUB: 68283703AA (Chry
M2 hub harness

I did end up needing to trim a little where the media hub was installed but I just used a dremel.

thanks to mpgrimm2 for the hub harness.

I own a 2016 1500 crew - outdoorsman - heated seats - dual zone climate - 7 speed fan - 8.4 uconnect radio - full console.

I like what jacksoncm0204 installed but want to know if that will work for my vehicle.

Will this radio work for a 16?
RADIO: 68461699AC (UAQ)
MEDIA HUB: 68283703AA (Chry

will get the harness picked out once I verify the radio part.

Appreciate you all for your time,

KDake

I never saw carplay or auto in my menu, figured my truck didn't have it , but my window sticker said it did,. When I had my oil changed today at the dealership I asked about it , they must of turned it on as when I went to leave it was in the menu and came right on. Nice to see the local dealership go the extra mile to help me out.

Funny thing my dad's truck is the same thing so I guess got to turn his on too.

It's only on '18 and new trucks and as mentioned you need to plug the phone into the console USB for the Android Auto/CarPlay icon to appear. There is nothing the dealer has to "turn on".
There are wireless adapters available, AAWireless (Android Auto), CPlay2air & CarlinKit (CarPlay) or trade your truck in for a '22 with the new UConnect 5 radios.
I have the AAWireless for my truck which has an UAQ radio, it works great. It connects in 30 seconds or less.

I was plugging in to the dash, so maybe that's why it wasn't working, also the icon was on the bottom row when I started it at the dealer before plugging in

Wouldn't help those like me that get the message with no phones connected.

My 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 5.0 to 8.4 NAV/CarPlay upgrade was a huge success...thanks to MP Grimm2! Got my bezel, harnesses, sensors, modules, Media Hub, etc. through him...a lot of instructions as well. The Chrysler 200 Media Hub worked perfectly in my jumpseat console to run Android Auto and CarPlay Just wanted to shout-out my gratitude to the hard-working folks on RamForum like MP Grimm2!

Yes...the old hub will work too, it just won't connect to Android Auto or Carplay.
