Parts list questions and how to get the HUB harness from @Mpgrimm2
My truck is a 2016 Ram Laramie with factory options: 8.4 RA4, Dual zone 7 speed climate control, Alpine audio, heated/cooled seats
Will the following parts suffice:
RADIO: 68331631AH (UAQ)
MEDIA HUB: 68328704AC
M2 hub harness
Will I need the 2018 HVAC harness? Is this the part number: 68366552AA
What features will I lose?
What will I need to change in the BCM? If my truck has the traffic features from the factory, will I need to re-enable it after the UAQ install?
Should I use the form on https://www.m2mods4ram.com/4th-gen-ram-radio-upgrade to order the media hub harness?
Thanks!
That should do it for your situationI own a 2016 1500 crew - outdoorsman - heated seats - dual zone climate - 7 speed fan - 8.4 uconnect radio - full console.
I like what jacksoncm0204 installed but want to know if that will work for my vehicle.
Will this radio work for a 16?
RADIO: 68461699AC (UAQ)
MEDIA HUB: 68283703AA (Chry
will get the harness picked out once I verify the radio part.
Appreciate you all for your time,
KDake
As an FYI for others - the plastic around the media hub is so soft you can even use a utility knife to trim / shave it back.I did end up needing to trim a little where the media hub was installed but I just used a dremel.
It's only on '18 and new trucks and as mentioned you need to plug the phone into the console USB for the Android Auto/CarPlay icon to appear. There is nothing the dealer has to "turn on".I never saw carplay or auto in my menu, figured my truck didn't have it , but my window sticker said it did,..... Funny thing my dad's truck is the same thing so I guess got to turn his on too.
I was plugging in to the dash, so maybe that's why it wasn't working, also the icon was on the bottom row when I started it at the dealer before plugging inIt's only on '18 and new trucks and as mentioned you need to plug the phone into the console USB for the Android Auto/CarPlay icon to appear. There are wireless adapters available, AAWireless (Android Auto), CPlay2air & CarlinKit (CarPlay) or trade your truck in for a '22 with the new UConnect 5 radios.
I have the AAWireless for my truck which has an UAQ radio, it works great. It connects in 30 seconds or less.
I may have a fix for the "device not recognized" error. I'll need someone who has the error still to chime in and try it too. It worked for me so far.
For those who know Android, try turning off "USB Debugging" in the developer options menu. For anyone who wants to try but doesn't know Android, PM me...
Yes...the old hub will work too, it just won't connect to Android Auto or Carplay.I just bought a uas from a 18 ram. I am getting the 18 hub later this week.(I have the hub harness already.) if I install the radio before I get the harness. Will the radio still work. Like for just local fm stations?
