I am geting ready to spring for some 20s and 35" shoes to go on em. As I was poking around the web for pics prices ad tips I stumbled on "hub size".

Well to make a long story short the wheels are all about 125mm and the hub is 120.9. Sooo do we not need to install rings in the space between the wheel and hub? Common sense tells me that we do since our rams are not lug centric.

I am starting to believe, though, that we don't need rings due to the fact that they are impossible to find without being custom made.

talk to me gurus!!

ohhhhh i was thinking 1500 lol

So that's not a very big difference, which is probably why there are no rings out there.

I would say a competent shop would be able to get them on centered

4-5mm? seems like a lot to me on an 85lb lump of rubber and metal supporting 7400lbs going 80mph.

I'm not worried about centering them up. If Im not mistaken the RAMs are hub centric not lug centric. Meaning the wheels are supported by the hub AND the lugs....not just the lugs. It seems like we would be asking the lugs to do a lot on a truck like this without the support of the hub.

Or am I all wet on this one??

4.9mm is only .08 of an inch all around, not much for centering.

Dont quote me for 2500s but for the 1500 they are hub centric for centering but the hub doesn't support any weight. If it did, plastic rings wouldn't be working very well which is what i'm using on my 100 pound per tire/wheel set up

I bought my Fuels from Mrwheeldeal shipped mounted and balanced. The way I talked to them, they drill the bolt pattern to actually fit your make/model. That's what they told me before I ordered mine and also asked about purchasing rings. So I don't think you will need the rings.

You are easing my mind sensei!

I have read on some sites that folks wont run without em....I have read on others that they dont. I even stumbled across discussions about broken studs and it as blamed on incorrect hub size on wheels and rings weren't in place.

I have never run rings on any of my lifted trucks. You never really see to many rings for them. However, it wont hurt to get a set thats for sure.

So guys, I just bought new wheels and tires. The wheels are ATX Ledge. I bought the model specifically for the 2015 ram 1500. I brought the wheels to Mavis and the techs said they are hub centric and that I needed the disks. I just got off the phone with the vendor for the wheels and they are insisting that I bought the right wheels and don't need the disks. They said that extended acorn nuts will self center the wheel. Who is right, Mavis or the vendor?
