I bought the wrong oil kit...

Its hard AF to find oil for the 6.4L. I finally found an oil package that had 7q of 0-40 and a filter, but didnt realize it was for a charger not the ram. Oddly enough the charger/challenger uses a larger filter than the Ram does. I filtered for filters (no pun intended) and found the Penzoil HE https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008YUEEGO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I usually run mopar filters on my vehicles, but had to run a boche this time on my dart, and ordered this penzoil for my 6.4

Does Penzoil make good filters like they do oil?

From my understanding PP and PUP are second to amzoil.

That one will work, but if you are after the smaller size Royal Purple 10-48 is what you want.

It all depends on how long you want to run your oil. If you are dumping in 3000 mi then sure they will work.

I prefer to have a better filtration for my truck. The Royal Purple 10-48 or 20-820 and their Amsoil Equivalents is the best in the business.

You spent good money on your truck, spending good money on the best oil and filters for it shouldn’t be an issue.

6.4 likes quality oil and good filters. PUP, Redline or Amsoil in 0W-40/5W-40. Royal Purple, Amsoil, or Fram Ultra Synthetic filters. All I would run.

The specs Pennzoil publishes for the Platinum filters look good. If you have it I’d run it.

Pennzoil oil products are really good. Ultra Platinum is fantastic, just not as available as other products. Pennzoil is made by Shell Oil Products US, same folks who give us Rotella that all the diesel guys swear by.

The bigger filter is for the 5.7 right? The one in the picture. Is there a benefit to running the large filter. Don’t understand how my 6.4 uses same filter as my dart. Is the pennzoil platinum he filters good.

This is the best (and only) deal I’ve found for PUP. Otherwise it’s nigh-unobtainium. So... I’ll continue to buy whatever name brand synthetic 0w40 is on sale at Canadian Tire.

what. you can get it all over ebay for $77-$79 free ship with filter. local dealer here is $77 without filter but i use wix anyway so i dont want their filter
