How many of you folks renew your Uconnect? My initial 1 year expired. And a few months later I got an offer for half off at $75 plus tax which was $23 more dollars. $18 of that is your local E911 tax. Still cost me $98 dollars at half off. That's nuts. My subscription is currently expired. Not sure if it's worth renewing at the current price of $150 plus the extra $23 in taxes. I think it's outrageous for that price for what minimal features the app offers.

I haven’t and i’ve had my truck for 8 years. I managed to get SXM for free for 3 months on 2 separate occasions.

Others will disagree... For me, Unconnect is one of the most pathetic things created. I've said before, just let us connect our phones to the truck. Then I'll use my trusty Google Maps, Waze, etc. Yes the remote start and lock is ok cool--but really?

The 911 emergency button will work regardless of your subscription.

I've not renewed ever...

^^^This.

Back in late 2012 to early 2013 when my truck was new the original Uconnect 5.0 (RA2) completely shat itself and wouldn’t boot up, but only stay on the RAM splash screen and stay on whatever it was last left on.

RAM dealership didn’t know what the **** it was doing so i spent the 1500$ and got the full 8.4AN upgrade, with the 7 speed blower.

I can't see anything uconnect offers me that would make me want to pay for it. Even when I had the free trial the one thing I tried to use (remote start from app) only worked about 40% of the time. I gave up on using the whole thing before my trial even expired.

I purchased a one year subscription for 74 dollars. This required regular checking of the Uconnect site

Have never paid for Uconnect. Zero value as I see it.

Sirius XM. Nope. Years ago, I got them to give it to me half price. Some talk shows good to listen in on. Not worth paying for. Believe some XM stations are commonly free around the holidays. Even then, I am not interested in XM.

Music? Pandora on cell with Bluetooth. Maps the same. Although a few months back there was / is a thread that provided affordable map updates for Uconnect. That is a maybe for me. Still hooked on FREE...Pandora, Google Maps...

And as KeepRight stated, 911 button is ALWAYS available.

Last time I saw the advertisement for $74 they tacked on a $25-$30 "fee" on top of that so it was back over $100. Did you get it for $74 out the door?

Never understood them charging you to use that Pandora app as part of uconnect? It uses YOUR phones data and has to have the app on the phone so what exactly are you paying for? The ability to control it from the screen? What a scam Lol.

After I saw the price for a subscription when I bought my 2014 2500, then again when I got my 2017 2500, I realized it really didn't have anything to offer me that justified the expense.

I have totally ignored UConnect from then on.

YMMV but I just didn't see the value for me.

I let mine expire for over a year and missed it. Then they offered me the $75 deal so I subscribed again. It was $86.40 total so at $7 a month I figured wth.

I like it for the remote start (I'm out of remote range at work) and the alarm acknowledge it sends.

I also have SXM and love it. I use the APP as well and listen at work or outside with bluetooth speakers. If you call SXM they'll drop it to $60 so again at $5 a month wth.

It left a bad taste in my mouth that they disable Pandora accessibility when you don't renew.. even though it uses your phone's data and 0 of their services. That just seems like they disable it to be spiteful to you for not paying the ransom.

F everything about that.

I have it. I wait for the renew email at the half off of $86 total like JB1 said. Same for Sirius, only pay half off. Works for me.

My 2 cents, for what it’s worth, it sucks. Ucconect has never done anything that my cell phones wouldn’t do. I have a 14 Ram and have never considered getting a subscription. The older RA4 and RA3 8.4 systems are slow and clunky. Like using a 10 year old laptop. Gets the job done but you had better have patience.

I have no problem with the speed of my RA4.

UConnect service is useless IMHO. The app itself was slow (I blame the app, not the head unit), half the time I could walk across our parking lot before the remote start request would get to the truck. No other features worth it, IMHO, except the custom voice text message responses, which should be free anyway since its a safety feature.

I still use Pandora periodically without an active UConnect account. That functionality should not be disabled. It does require the UConnect app on the phone though.

Don't have that feature (only got an RA-5 uConnect "5"?), but I do keep a SirusXM subscription going on it...

For me being in Manitoba, The remote start works great because the factory remote start is horrible. The one thing I've found is the 1st time i try to use it it says "request failed". I do it for the 2nd time and then it starts. It takes 30 seconds for the truck to receive the command b, I have had Viper starters that say a mile but you're in a mall no way it's starting before you get outside. This starts from anywhere. Give you some good info on your truck on the info part. Is it worth $100 a t=year prob not if you're in the States and not even sure if its worth it for 6 months a year here but i'll see what the say once my free trial is over.

I love it personally. I use it to start my truck just about every day at work (I’m in southeast Texas so it gets well over 100 inside the truck), I use it to unlock the truck if I don’t have my keys on me, and I use it to send directions to the nav. I don’t see myself not renewing it, as I get my money’s worth out of it.
