For high temperature oil, yes, but the ZF transmission is much tougher than Chrysler's old RFE.

Regardless, you'll help your transmission live its longest life by getting that oil thermostat out of there. See @caulk04 and search bypass kit.

This heat thing is interesting I hardly pull heavy maybe a couple times a year. I watch my trans temp closely and it is always 150-170. but than again I have no idea what is a normal temp for a transmission

There's a 2014 Ram 2500 (66FRE) in the family which indicates around 178-185 when pulling a 7000 excavator.

If it were me I would upgrade that valvebody and solenoid pack while it’s out and getting replaced. The oem valvebody and solenoid packs are known issues. Of coarse if funds are not an issue.

But keep in mind a new VB REQUIRES an ECM re-learn. So if you're already tuned as I am, it's a major consideration.

The 2500's use a stand alone thermostat that's totally differant from what the 1500's use,so Jesse Caulks bypass doesn't work on them.The thermostat is incorporated into the thermal management unit on the 1500's,which isn't used on the 2500's or cars with the 8 speed

Does not Jesse also have a system dedicated to the ZF 8 speed? That's what I recall, which is why I offered a referral.

I think his system is dedicated to the 8 speed used in the 1500's,not the 2500's,but i might be wrong. @caulk04 does your bypass work in the 2500's that use a stand alone thermostat?
The cars and HD trucks use a totally differant system from the 1500's,they don't employ the thermal management unit that uses coolant to heat the tranny fluid like the 1500's do.

As far as I'm aware, my bypass will not work with the HD trucks.
