There is a strong chance that they got fake mopar gaskets from some online supplier. They often don't even look like the authentic one when observed side by side.

My last tranny fluid and filter, I ended up with one of the fakes from what I thought was my usual supplier through Amazon. You have to be very careful with Amazon, sometimes they substitute a different supplier posting when the one you thought you were dealing with is out of stock. Sometimes the supplier just switches sources when they get a really good deal (for them, not you).

I was very glad that the original one was still in excellent shape (as it should have been at less than six months old). I opted to reuse it instead of risking the wrong looking one, which was actually all rubber, instead of the factory cork.
You don't want my opinion of Cork gaskets, there's a reason they're very seldom used anymore. I'd of used the replacement gasket if it was rubber ;) Engines/transmissions sealed with rubber gaskets don't leak,engines/transmissions sealed with cork gaskets all leak,;)

if you are checking it hot (in drive with the park brake set, right?) and it is showing on the dipstick as between the hot and cold hash' it is pretty low id say
Usually it's in Neutral after moving the gear shift lever through each gear ending in Neutral.

Yes checking it hot in neutral after going through the gears. I added about 10 oz and it brought it back up to all most the full mark
Thanks

I states to check it hot in neutral, not like the old ones in park. Even states that on dip stick which I did not know. Yes it’s in between the cold and hot check. I added 1/3 quart yesterday and have to drive and check later today.
Thanks
Imo if the level is showing between the cold and hot check I would wait and re-check it after maybe 10-20 miles of driving to make sure everything is fully warmed up. May take longer to warm up if ambient temps are close to the 32F mark and below. Then, after you parked it on a level surface, using parking brake and/or blocking a wheel or tw0 and ran the shifter through each gear ending in Neutral, pulling the dipstick the fluid should be hot to the touch if it is still showing between the cold and hot marks I would go ahead adding 1/4 quarts a a time to make sure you're won't overfill it.

Thanks that is what I have been doing, just a pain in the ass to have to keep track of it until it’s replaced. Never would have noticed the leak as at home I park in stones and here at RV park on concrete.

Never heard of a Mopar trans gasket, as they come from the factory with RTV.

A bunch of us use LubeLocker without leaks. Believe us or not. Up to you.
Over the years Chrysler used a pan gasket and then they didn't. The replacement Mopar transmission filters for A904s and A727s came with a pan gasket folded in the box.

Of course, ZF 8-speeds use an O-ring.

Cork gaskets are why small children shouldn't be around when trying to remove an old one.

Supplying your own parts to a service-shop is a bad idea.
Sorta like taking your eggs to the restaraunt and asking them to fry them for you. If the yolk breaks… who has to warranty it?

I once bought tires for the airplane I managed and had the shop install them.
A month later the side-walls were all cracked…. and when I asked the shop to replace them under-warranty…. they offered to remove them and let ME make the warranty-claim….. but I would have to pay the labor to remove them…..and to install the replacement tires …all-over-again.

I never again bought parts for the shop to install.
