Hey All:

I'm having a problem with my 2016 Bighorn. When I'm coming to a stop and braking normally the brakes will work normally then suddenly seem to grab at around 40kmh and continue to grab right up to the stop. The truck also grabs at the stop a little no matter how hard I try easing up at the end. Had it to the dealer last week and they machined the rotors for me under warranty but the problem persists. Has anyone had a similar issue to this? It makes it pretty difficult to judge the stopping range.

Thanks

check to see if their is any globed up dirt on the track that the brake pads sit in both sides of the caliper >> because that will stop the pads from traveling evenly when applying the brakes also make sure your topped off with brake fluid

I don’t think it’s a rotor problem. I think it’s the proportioning valve that not providing equal pressure. It’s putting to much to the affected caliper.

Thanks for the replies. Fluid level is ok. My thoughts too are initially a sticky piston. Didn't think about the proportioning valve but it sounds like a credible diagnosis. I'm just gonna take it back to the dealership since its still under warranty. If they can't get it right this time then Ill start pulling wheels and checking things myself. I took it out today a did some extremely hard braking several times and it seems to be better but is still noticeably grabbing. No noticable pulling to the side when braking either. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Cheers

Hi Capncark,
We certainly understand why this may be concerning. Since you plan to continue to work with your dealer to address this, we suggest contacting Canadian Customer Care as well to have this documented.
