Rlk,
Both cameras tap the cbc3 wire i believe. Im fairly certain they use the same chassis harness in both Kits but pull the power at different locations.

Post 10 had the directions linked.
See schematic.

Your right both use the CBC3 Lin Bus C-5 / 45

Hey that unused yellow wire in the kit is used in the mirror kit , it connects to the BCM also , at C-7 / 6 Lin Bus CBC2 , WONDER WHAT THAT'S FOR ?

Maybe that completes the Lin Bus circuit ( to generate grid lines ) if your truck originally came with the RA1 ??
With the RA1 Installed the only B/U CAM option is the mirror kit ....?

Piper618 had lines on his display , I wonder if his radio is original or upgraded ?

I will try to look up the print/ connection after work.

What print did you find the C7-6 pin on?

Im not sure why they world need that separate extra signal except maybe to enable the mirror's display to turn on (vs being a mirror) where as on the RA2+ radios the display is effectively always on.

I guarantee you, the cbc 2 signal it's not hooked up to my backup camera system or piper's.

Definitely check your 10 amp fuse in the PDC !
As far as your wires go , the C1 connector on the radio is good . The connector under your dash you originally populated incorrectly , I'm not 100% on , verify yours with mine ( pics below ) it's orientated with the lock up . Also make sure the 3 wire radio harness (under the dash ) make sure the shield , grey /or and grey/blue are lined up with those same color wires on the other side of the connector . The factory radio harnes could have the video wires swapped .

I don't remember seeing your BCM C-5 Connector orange /dk blue splice Or your red pwr wire splie and black ground @ the PDC ( been a while )

Other than that make sure your tailgate locks are in locations 7&8 in the back of your long harness .

Remember we wer thinking you may have damaged the signal in your radio due to you populating the connector under your dash incorrectly the first time

. Double check all wires are correct before showing back up @ the dealer cause there's no way they will warranty your 8.4" radio if they find something wrong...

The red and ground are correct. The harness under the steering wheels is correct with your help. I used the letters A-E to guide me in making sure the connection are correct. The purple wire is also correct, however the dealer claims it is falling and needs re soldering. I'm sure that is not the problem. I suspect it is the video in the radio. I'm just concerned that the dealer will not warranty it out. I am waiting to hear from them.

You could have a cold solder joint there , but that would just not give you the grid lines , you would still get video . I actually don't even have my purple wire hooked up right now and still get perfect video .

UPDATE ** dealer called, stated they ar having a hell of a time trying to figure this out. They think it is a bad connection on the wires under the steering wheel. He said everything is wired correctly (thank god!!) but the connections are bad. They verified this by bypassing the. Wires and after that they got the camera to work. He even said that the original camera DOES work and that it does not need replacing.

They will finish later today. I hope the replacement of the wire tips solve this problem

@ cptwing , do you have an idea why i wouldn't have the Active Grid Lines on my truck . I've installed the OEM Backup Camera kit P/N 82214240 per the instructions , I have a clear video on my RA2 (originally RA1) , I've done some troubleshooting to verify the Lin Bus CBC3 Wire install but still no grid lines ?
FYI my truck =2014 1500 ST Q.C. 4X4 ,5.7L VIN 1C6RR7FT5ES158389
Thanks in advance for you help Sir.

Oh if your new 14 has the 8.4 you probably just haven't turned on the active grid lines option under Safty -Parkview settings .
I know you don't mind not having them , but if you get the chance could you try turning them on in your Parkview settings?

If you're paying, make sure they get those grid lines working also... and get as much detail as you can on what they did. Inquiring minds want to know.

PROBLEM FIXED!! Apparently the yellow wire on the harness the connection was bad. And I am sure when I was removing the pins to re wire I must of damaged it. They soldered and put a new connector on the wire and it worked
