Ok fellas, heres a question for those that have done it/know what's a good Intake and Exhaust combo.

Looking in the next month to run duals, wondering what size piping, muffler brands etc.

Also want to do a new Air intake at the same time, not some Autozone thing a real CAI. Any suggestions???

Thanks!

If you are sold entirely on dual exhaust, unless you are going to do some serious high flow modifications, I'd stick to dual 2.25" pipe.

Personally I think you'd be just fine with a single 3" from the cat back. A decent muffler (Chambered or traditional). My pop's runs a 3" from cat back to a Flowmaster 50 series with a 3" tailpipe. Sounds great, works great, and feels like it added some low end over the stock system.

For the intake. Save your money. That 'true cold air' is going to make such a small increase over at 10x2" round air cleaner that you can get for $30 it's just not worth it. People might talk big gains, but no one has dyno charts to prove it, nor will they ever. A simple round air cleaner does the trick on these trucks, and it's really easy to tell when you need to replace your air filter! Not to mention, you can get that old school look. (which let's face it, the Magnum engines came about in '92... they ARE old school anymore)

On my '06 Hemi I went with a green filters USA cai Home which boosted me about 1.5 mpg. Then I added a magnaflow cat-back 3' to 2x2.5' duals with an 18' muffler which gave it about .5 mpg better and a badass low rumble. Since you have a 360 you wouldnt have to worry about the exhaust messing with your 4 cylinder mode either.:waytogo:

I agree but if you want a lifetime warranty I would go with a cai. They would both work the same but a cai all you have to do is clean it once a year instead of replace it. The gains are noticable at the pump, with my Hemi I get about 1.5 mpg better with the cai than without it. Some people do make some slick airbrushed tops for round filters though, your choice.

Go with a good quality CAI, not those AutoZone deals.

Since routing a true dual under these trucks due to the fuel tank location and the space it takes, why not replace the Y-pipe with a better flowing one (the stock ones are pretty crimped) such as those offered by Magnaflow and go with a single in / dual out muffler. You get the look of duals and you retain the backpressure you need to avoid losing the low end torque.

Duals are nice but on a stock engine they are not really needed.

It's all based on what you like but with any exhaust you reach a point where you start losing bottom end torque and start gaining horsepower. To get a good combo I'd stick with 3' in 2x2.5' out it seems to be a great mix and on my old mans 360 he's got enough torque to spin circles around my Hemi all day.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Sometimes things make more sense when you have people talk it out, hence me posting this.

Took your suggestions and I'm having a shop here in town go 3 inch into a Single in/ Dual out flowmaster setup with polished tips and etc.

He said the same thing, duals are more expensive and just not necessary for what im using the truck for.

Also got a Volant(sp?) CAI off of summit, used the coupon I had from last time I orded for 75 bucks off so thats done.

Exhaust should be done by this afternoon!

If they're not true duals then your limited by your initial pipe, if its a 3 inch then it will be fine (it is in a way a waste of money). If you read mopar muscle they actually recently did an article on a car that was built and tested with different sized H-pipe exhausts and they didnt see a drop in torque until they went to 3 inch true H-pipe duals. The real surprise was the car wasn't too wild it was around 400 horsepower so your torque shouldnt be changed by duals.

Well for the 215 it cost me I cant complain, I figure the stock exhaust is more limiting then anything, It goes 3 inch into a flowmaster muffler then 2.5 dual outs.

Just got back from driving it around, the seat of the pants-o-meter says it feels like it pulls harder. Plus the sound is cool! Low rumble at idle and sick sound at throttle. No drone on the interstate either. Pretty satisfied. Its nice upgrade, plus I'm probably not doing too much more engine wise in the near future anyways.

Good to hear on the intake! Asked the fellas at the shop what they thought they agreed its a nice one, said K&N's are nice but really pricey.
