Intermediate Axle and front driveline

So I know this thread has gone out before but looking to see if there is a solution to this problem. The front intermediate axle has worn down and my front passenger axle is banging around. I have been told that you cannot just buy the intermediate axle and that you need to buy the front driveline/ housing to fix the issue. That is a ton of cash that I currently don’t have and wondering on something. Can you change out the driveline for an older one? I have a line on a 2012 so you could change out the intermediate axle when required. But would it fit in my truck? Or if this is something I missed can you get the intermediate shaft from a third party?
Thoughts?

Depending on the year of your truck you should be able to purchase the passenger side stub shaft from the dealer. I’m assuming you’re referring to the passenger side since it’s the most common.

It’s a 2014. So the intermediate shaft is is pushed/ sealed inside the housing

Ormsby9094...did you ever find a place that sells the intermediate shaft? I have to replace mine and was told by dealership I had to purchase a complete new assembly?!!?!? WTF
