So I have an issue and could use some help from one of you lighting gurus or electrical geniuses. Basically I tinted my tails and to compensate for some of the light output lost with the stock bulbs in tinted housings I bought a couple of 45 LED taillight bulbs from super bright leds. I'm no expert in this stuff so I bought them, installed them, and quickly found that the truck didn't like them very much.

They light up like normal but at first the only one that would blink when I used my signal was the passenger side. I found that the driver side one wouldn't blink at all and that when I press my brakes it is causing the front driver side turn signal marker to light up? Pretty strange I guess, but again not very good with this stuff.

So I ended up buying resistors as I understand that LEDs aren't recognized because they put out less than a standard halogen bulb. Installed the resistors and I'm still having the same issue. The passenger side works fine and the driver's side is doing the same thing as before. The only difference now is that my EVIC isn't telling me that either one of my turn signal markers are out.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Check to make sure that the LEDs are plugged in correctly. If I remember correctly, some LEDs can only be put into the socket one way for it to work correctly.
Is it doing it with the stock halogens?

Take out driver tail light bulb and flip around and plug back in, should fix it as far as it lighting up. As the headlight marker lighting up when brakes des pressed I have no idea.

I was thinking flipping it around might work just hadn't gotten around to trying it. I'll do that as soon as I get home.

Oh and no it doesn't do that with the stock bulbs. Only started acting weird since I put in the LED bulbs. Hopefully flipping the bulb around will fix the issue. The resistors obviously got rid of the EVIC messages saying the lights needed replaced, so I think they are doing their jobs. I'll be sure to post my results so anyone else who might encounter the same issue could use this info.

I found this morning that flipping the bulbs around that they wouldn't work at all. They only work one way in the socket. So I switched them around completely. I put the driver side one on the passenger side, and vice versa. Seems to be working as of right now. I'm gonna have to pay attention to it, maybe when the wife get home I'll have her follow me and tell me if they are working on the go. Soon as that happens I'll let you all know. Again thanks for the help.

LED bulbs can cause problems, they trick your truck into believing there is a bulb out due to their low draw. On my old Jeep I actually had to mod the circuit in the flasher for it to work. That was a "dumb" vehicle sans fancy computers....

Thought I'd follow up... so far so good. Swapping the bulbs around from driver to passenger seems to have done the trick. Hoping everything holds up. Don't really want to get a ticket for failing to signal because my signal wasn't working.
