Contrary to what everyone says about JBA long tube headers...my 1 7/8" went on like butter. No problems whatsoever.
My only complaint is now it has the carven rasp on down throttle. 14" magnaflow is on it now.
Once i hear it in person, and it sounds like the video, its coming off and 10 series flowmaster is replacing it.

The 10 series flowmaster is a pretty small muffler. I would imagine it would make the rasp worse. I’ve heard a few stock rams with a 10 series and they were pretty raspy.

The rasp has grown on me. I've been eyeing doing a dump before the passenger rear tire using a single 3" muffler however probably have to get some type of resonator in there somewhere.

I had true dual 3" single chamber flowmasters (10 series) on my camaro, and they had zero rasp. No resonators either. I gotta do something cause to me this sounds like i have a $20 cheap glasspack.

Did your Camaro also have long tubes and no cats?

The resonators will help with the rasp. Adding the long tubes and deleting the cats frees up a lot of noise. Baffling is what would help reduce the rasp. Something like a 44 or 50 might be a better choice. With the 10 series you might as well be straight piped.

That’s a series 10 on a Ram and it’s already raspy. Add longtubes and no cats and it would be worse I imagine.

I don’t know first hand though, it may do what you want. I just have doubts since the series 10 will have much less baffling than the magnaflow you have now.

The flowmaster is a chambered muffler, magnaflow is straight thru just like carven.

Depends which magnaflow you have. They have the straight through with the perforated core as well as chambered.

I’d try as you were saying with the resonators first though before spending money.

The 14" nagnaflow is a straight thru design just like the carven. Kinda pissed i scrapped my old exhaust system with resonators. Now i need to search for used ones.

Throw a little race muffler in ahead of your existing muffler. Gary's Hemi had good results with adding in a short race bullet muffler ahead of his existing muffler

So if I did headers and a custom tune, it's about a grand to play?

Hey, we all lived with them "Thrustmasters" (with the pretty lil bird painted on), back in the day, maybe decades ago, LOL
