those drag radials look skinny compared to your other tires

They are 275/50s and my 22s are 285 40s which isn't much of a difference....Problem with out trucks is the bolt patterns, no one makes anything really light and 10" wide, if they do they have been discontinued. Another issues with DRs there isn't much of a selection for trucks. Mickey Thompson makes a 295 45 (27" OD) but are an inch shorter and M&H makes a 325 45 (28" OD) and really the only other things is a 390 40 M&H make which is 29.5" in OD but I'm sure that's over kill if you don't have 450-500rwhp and even then I don't think you need something that wide and heavy for our trucks.

It kills me to hit 4th so fast. My truck just kills over. That is my biggest problem. I am waiting for the tunes to raise the shift points. Also why I just dished out the cool grand to get the ARH long tubes for the top end... How ever with the lighter tires you will probably out weigh the hitting 4th too soon by the lighter tires and your quicker 1/4th trap.

Yeah tuning is gonna give you much better performance just based on WOT shifting with having a bigger gear set.

well you could always order a set of bogarts made for you but that will be kind of expensive

Yeah not worth it IMO....its just a truck and there not gonna be much more lighter after considering putting on a heavier tire. Then you consider the cost of one which is about almost the cost of 4 pro comp wheels.

Yup that's more for going all out... I want to try and get the stock 17s from the 2nd gen sst trucks as track wheels

Going all out for track wheels for these Rams doesn't equal in wise money invested because these trannys aren't worth a damn past 450-500rwhp and even after over 10 years later there hasn't been one bullet proof tranny made for us....just sayin and that's one of the main reason's I think some nitrious is the only mod left for me.

yup these tranys wont hold very long but i noticed what kills it most is the daily driving and downshifting more then actually taking it down the 1/4 mile

Update.....
Looks like royal purple got rained out (1/4 mile) which sucks but Houston motorsports is open (1/8 mile). I guess I'm gonna have to settle for a 1/8 slip tonight since I already got the DRs on the truck....let's see if she has an 8 sec run in her, I'll post slips later.

Good luck Joe. What size tire did you end up putting on the front?

Well the track wasn't prepped and they had water all over the place (couldn't go around). I should have hooked better but the strip was a little ****** and my launch technique is still work in progress. Nonetheless I almost broke into the 8s (DAMN) with 3 attempts.....I'm sure if I would have shed some weight I would have but I'm not making excuses. I did beat an 2012 Ram RT (CAI and exhaust) and a 2010 6.2 Chevy CC (cam/longtube headers) but I did lose to a little rice burner with a nitrous set up LOL, he got me by a truck length but I think I could have got him if I wasn't still trying to figure out the tree (sleeping LOL).

Here's some pics of my truck with my track set-up

The damn cheap ******** at Houston Motorsport Park was ripping/spliting the slips and half but anyway here they are line up in order from the first to third run. I meant to put 9.39 for the RT because he got the hit due to me sleeping at the tree.

The guy with the Chevy 6.2L was pretty impressed with my truck because I actually beat him even though I was out gunned mod vs mod. While we were talking about mods I took a picture of the slips combined.....

I'm gonna look at my datalogs and see if there are any noticeable issues because I should be launching better than this with DRs....I wanna say when I was looking at my logs from the trinity I was only doing a 0-60 in 5.5 secs when I did the same 0-60 in 5.4 secs the other day on the street. Everything is was set the same- 28" tires but the only difference I didn't have the front 17s on, just on the rear with my 22" on the front......Anyway I'll post what I find.

Man those wheels and tires look tiny now haha

Awesome results, you'll get the tree down with more practice

I raced jr dragsters for 3 years and it would probably take me a bit to get back into it haha

Yeah I just took a quick look at the logs and I bounced off the rev limiter way before what it was set at on all the runs going from 1st to 2nd.....I also pulled timing on the first run when I tried stalling it up a bit.

The chevy 6.2 race was won at the light. Look at your reaction time at .2607 vs his at .4568, he tec ran a faster time at his 8.8692 at 79.07 vs your 9.0302 at 77.41, but you treeing him at almost a full 2 tenths was the winning factor. You also cut alot better 60' time, congrads bud. Score a MOPAR WIN!

Very nice runs. You easily have an 8 second pass in that truck. Play with those shift points some, and remove your air filter next time as well. A 1.99 60' isnt bad at all for your mods and weight, so your launch is pretty good. Did you leave on idle on that pass, or did you try stalling it up at the last second like we talked about?

And finally, it was warm last night. When you did those logs the other day, the weather was much cooler. Just a 20* drop in temps is going to drop another .2 off your time. I dont see any reason why you couldnt run 8.7's with your setup.

Matt has any 4th gen guys made up a track light intake like us 3rd genners did? I know removing the lights on the 4's are alill more in depth but would be worth it.

Its too much work to remove the headlight. It would be worth it to run an air duct down to the bumper though. Joe has a Vararam, so this wont work for him. Even just removing the filter is going to show an improvement though.

I tried going on the 3rd yellow and obviously that was to late which made him get almost a truck length on me from the tree but It was fun walking him down in the CrewCab.....he was pretty shocked and said it felt like he was standing still on the last part of the race as I flew by him LOL.

Yeah I know and he was right there with me at the finish, I just did enough to keep him off my ass at the tree. My truck got alittle heat soaked because you can see I lost 1 1/2 miles on my trap speed vs my second run. I got in the far staging lane and shot right up the front in 10 mins so I know that played a bit into the trap speed.

Yeah it was pretty humid as well.....Me and Sean are getting the shift issue figured out as we speak, It possible could be a limit dodge has set but I'll let you know what comes about. The first run was the only time I stalled up which was around 1500rpm but it did seem like it pulled timing. I just didn't have enough runs to figure out the best way but I did improve each time though. I'm gonna put her on a diet for the 7th and shed some lbs and hopefully the weather will be just right, hell I'll be happy with a 1.8 LOL.

Being honest, I dont think you will see a 1.8 60' as that is a very hard launch...maybe a 1.89. 1.9's is about right for your setup. Once you get some better air and get the shift schedule figured out, the times are going to drop quick.
