New to forum and dodge trucks. got a 2013 1500 on Tuesday .love it so far.well I did up til today bought a drop in k/n filter came home popped it in and went for a little ride.all seemed fine .a couple hours later had to run out to the store ,now the engine seems sluggish .and don't sound the same as it did .also the liters per 100 Kms gauge. The one with the green bar that moves as you accelerate is all out of wack it go up to 90 lts per 100 Kms at idle and reads higher than it did under normal driving. come to a stop sign and after 20 or 30 sec it will reset to 0 at idle. I disconnected the battery for half an hour and tried again same thing .put old filter back in same thing . What's up with that .ill put the k/n back in and go for a longer ride on Sunday and see if it changes things. Any input would be appreciated thanks

I wonder if the K&N had too much oil on it, and it got on the IAT sensor.

K&N is the devil. Now you have the devil in your engine LOL
Pull the IAT and check it CAREFULLY for oil.
Tests have shown K&N panel filters to lose power or not add any.

I did a K&N drop in and have had no issues with it. Good Luck!

Take the k&n out wipe the inside of the intake out. Then reinstall it make sure it is lined up perfect. Now, let it idle for 5 minutes and it will seal properly. In my expeince you wouldn't have this problem if it was bout 70 degrees outside. Also, with performance I didn't notice any gain or loss except my truck shifts smoother now. :head3:

You can use the electronic connector cleaner or mass flow air sensor cleaner in spray can to get the oil off. I personally do not use an oiled filter anymore. I use a AEM dryflow and keep oil away from my truck but to each his own. The dryflow is the same price without the mess. AEM 28-20247 DryFlow Air Filter is what I have on my '09.
