Try not to tighten it too much. I know it seems silly. Too tight sometimes can push in the rubber / plastic too much.
I'll add, ensure the clamp is on the inner tube portion w/the hose over both. Then tighten until you can't remove the hose. But damn dude, how tight is that? Well it's just enough - if the inner plastic starts to buckle - you've gone way too tight.How tight should hose clamps be?
