I just purchased a security bypass cable from kaodtech for my 2023 ram 1500 classic. The one I got in the mail looks nothing like the one I ordered from them. Does anyone have a pic of there cable assembly for a 23 1500 classic. I’m trying to get a hold of them with no success. This is the unit they sent me

That does appear to be unusual looking. It's definitely different-looking than mine.

The one I have looks like the picture in post #2.

I trust that you ordered a Classic from the dropdown menu, right?

How long have you attempted to make contact, and have you used the contact us form or sent an email to [email protected]?

He gets pretty busy with work sometimes.

BTW, your post belongs in the 4th gen section.

And, welcome to Ram Forum.

They make a good product and I know it can be tough to run a business and work a full time job at the same time, but I have seen multiple people have issues contacting Kaodtech with issues post-order. I personally tried to contact them multiple times to try to return a bypass and buy one for a different model when I ended up selling my truck right after buying the bypass and never received a response. Not their fault, but they do say they offer returns. Another member accidentally purchased the wrong year bypass and couldn't get ahold of them for a return, and now OP. I'm sure there have been more but that's what I've experienced.

@Jerryattricks I say all this because Kaodtech has been difficult to get ahold of from what I've seen. It's unfortunate as you received either an unfinished cable or something totally different since you dont even have an OBD port wired in to what you received. It should look like the picture shown on the website.

Let's see if @Mpgrimm2 can help out with this.
It's possible the website has a picture of an older version of the bypass cable.

I do not argue with anything you've mentioned above, but if I changed trucks and needed a different harness, I would gamble on KaodTech in a heartbeat.

Mine arrived quickly, and I had sent several email inquiries before ordering; some emails were answered quickly, but not all.

The build quality and the fact that it blends into the other OE wiring are my primary interests. And, the install and forget feature is excellent.

I have no affiliation with KaodTech, just a happy customer.

That's why I started off saying they make a good product. I have a cheapo amazon bypass that works on my 2500, but you have to pull the instrument cluster to use it. After deciding I'd never do that again if I didn't have to, I ordered another Kaodtech bypass a couple weeks ago. Also arrived quickly after I ordered it. I look forward to trying it out soon.

Yup.

I thought I was being clever by ordering one of those cheapy Amazon 12+8 bypass cables until I learned the Security Gateway Module on my truck is buried behind the radio and had to be R&R before/after every change. I still have a warranty.

After learning the simplicity of the KaodTech, install and forget, the price became irrelevant.

I haven't been able to catch up directly with Deereguy (KaodTech) in awhile, but that doesn't look like something he makes/ sells IMO.

Looks like someone else's inline harness with some sort of module and relay on it? Not sure what that would be for? Is that one of @Brandon-w s 4x4 lock harnesses? ... AnC bypass? IDK

(Not saying you didn't buy one, but what's posted isn't one of his)

I’ll give him another week to respond before I send another email. I also purchased the Amazon 12+8 assembly. That’s just a pain having to remove the dash the radio to get to the unit. this is why I ordered from him because he did get good reviews. It was kind of pricey when you do the exchange on the Canadian dollar and duty fees, but if it’s good Quality, I don’t mind spending the money.

Well, sorry for the thread resurrection but the same thing has happened to me

However, I plugged the first connector in and do not have a slot anywhere for the second one..

Mine were not color coded either and now I have it just laying under my dash with one plugged in and one with no where to go...
I think I was sent the wrong harness.
Yes I emailed them a couple times now...

the green CAN bar has my new plug in it...
My other plug is WIDE, just like the first bottom slot being used in the white CAN bar
But the white CAN bar has no other wide slots for my 2nd plug (shown below)

You got the wrong one. The one you have is for a 1500 classic.
Just use it exactly how you have the one plugged in for now just to get you by. You will still be able to make changes to the body computer without the other one plugged in.
