Has anyone installed them?

Is there a way to hook the heated seats up to the factory system so they still come on via remote start?

Can you order them in just AC and keep your factory heat setup?

just wondering if anyone has any info on them

No, it's a totally independent setup and you can't integrate it into the factory system. I had priced it out when I did mine but for the money you are going to spend just buy some Laramie or sport seats with those options. Then you can hook it up like factory.

This.

I didnt want the standard Laramie/Limited/Longhorn leather, so I bought a used set of front heated cloth seats (cloth only gets heat, but I dont really need vented) and then custom ordered a set of Katzkin leather for them.

I wanted heat in the rear seats as well, so I picked up a pair of Roadwire heated seat kits and ran wiring back to the battery instead of hacking up factory wiring.

Maybe Im missing out on the vented seat thing, but the few times Ive used them in other vehicles I wasnt impressed so I dont feel too bad about it.

The factory heated/vented seats use a system that's actually incorporated together. In other words you cannot purchase just the heating pads on a heated/vented seat. Also the factory heated/vented seats have a completely different seat foam that is designed for air circulation. The factory heated seat system is not compatible with aftermarket seat heaters. If you went with the aftermarket heaters you would need to wire them separately. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish but if your truck came with factory heated seats you can install the factory Laramie heated/vented seats. Your truck will have all if the correct wiring from the factory. All trucks that come with heated seats also have the correct wiring for vented seats. You would need to install the correct switch panel and activate the codes with the alfa tool which is easy to do. You would also need to install the factory 8.4 RA3 or RA4 8.4" radio if your truck does not already have one but most already do. The factory vented seats will not work with the smaller RA1 3" or RA2 5" screen radios. You can also install a complete aftermarket setup but you will not be able to use the factory switches or factory system. If your truck did not come with heated seats and you don't have the correct wiring you can purchase the harness from M2mods who us a vendor on the forum and install it yourself.

They are definitely overrated. They don't move that much air and I could only see a benefit if you lived in a hot place year round.

I found a set of Laramaie seats out of a 2016 3500, if i buy them can they just plug and play then activate the codes?

Also are the rear seats the same in the Laramie and Big horn.....I was thinking i could just wrap them in factory leather

They would work but make sure they have the factory seat airbags. Some HD trucks didn't have them. This is the wiring you should have present in your drivers side seat connector. If your truck has the solid red wire plus the two pink/yellow wires in the yellow connector your good to go. You will need the 8.4 radio either the RA3 or the RA4 in order for vented seats to work plus the correct switch panel. You will also need to purchase the alfa tool to enable the codes.edd6fc4346cde38c99494161df9350d1.jpg

Also forgot to mention yes as long as you get the correct cab configuration either Quad Cab or Crew Cab the Laramie back seats will bolt right in. I have fully functioning Laramie seats in my Express. Heat/Vent and memory all work. Of course you will need to enable all the correct codes in order for them to work.

None of seats are the same between Big Horn and Laramie. Like Rick said, if you can find a Laramie seat in your configuration it will bolt it but the seat covers are not interchangeable

I'm trying to figure out if the actual back seat foam/shape in the Laramie and Big Horn Crew cab is the same? These front seats are out of a Wrecked Mega Cab so the back seats will not work in my truck. I am trying to see if the seats are the same so i can order the factory seat covers and cover my current cloth big horn seats so the leather matches these Laramie front seats

I understand what you're asking and the answer is no, they are not the same. Different foam. Could you possibly make it work, maybe. Top pic is my Big Horn rear in katzkin, bottom is my Laramie rear

It's close. The Big Horn has a couple more ribs in it. That's why I say you might be able to make it work. Also, and this may or may not make a difference but my Laramie rear is heated where the Big Horn isn't. Maybe someone with a non heated Laramie seat can chime in

And you can definitely pick up a used rear Laramie seat for way less than the factory seat cover. I paid $400 shipped for my Laramie rear out of a wrecked 17 and it's heated.

help me, I'm new. What is the alpha tool and where do you get it? I'm going to try changing my cloth manual seats to power, leather seats. I have the control buttons on the dash, hope they will work.

What trim level is your truck? Depending on the trim level you may need to install the nessisary wiring in order for them to work. Look at your trucks yellow drivers side seat connector. If looks like the picture I am posting you have the correct wiring. You need two pink wires with yellow stripes in the yellow seat connector plus the wiring shown in the grey connector. If not you will need to add it. You can purchases the heated/vented seat harness from M2mods who is a vendor on the forum. The Alfa tool is an app that is used to enable the codes in the BCM. Depending on your trim level and options this is something the dealer cannot do in most cases. The seats will not work until the codes are enabled. There is a thread that explains the Alfa tool plus a thread I started that explains (How to add heated/vented seat to an Express/Tradesman) both threads are in the 4th gen DIY section and are full of information. If you purchase seats they must be the correct year or they will not work. If you truck is a 13 to 18 you will need to use seats from a 13 to 18. The 09 to 12 seats will not work in a 13 to 18. 5f19348d8ce248d9ea240f7d3a6f95f1.jpg
