Haha, synthetic oil will not cause a drop in mileage. I agree with above about driving habits with the new toys. Plan a long highway trip, set cruise and keep your foot off the gas. See if it comes back up.

I also have a Kn intake. My mileage also went down, but I like to hear my Hemi roar... And tick, dammit...

I have judged the drop in mileage on a trip from Pittsburgh north to Erie both ways twice. It does sound better but I wouldn't say my driving habits have changed. I put it on 75 and set the cruise control and compared before and after. Seemed to me that it took about 8 Quarts of oil to fill it up. I feel that my oil level may be a touch full. would that cause the drop in mileage?

maybe it is feasible that a cai and exhaust do drop mpg's. you are allowing better air intake. Doesn't the computer adjust the air to fuel mixture?

8qts, without an extended filter is 1QT over full, so yes, if you're running with 8 qts, it could effect you're mileage as we'll as the life of your engine...

I use 8 qts, but I also use a longer oil filter.

Is there a specific type of oil filter I should be using with the synthetic oil as well? I couldn't find any information on that.

I drained about a half a quart of oil out of her and that put it right in the middle. It seems to be running the MDS better now. Also, When I installed the KNN CAI i didnt remove the plastic peice that is against the fenderwell. It didnt say to. I will post a picture later. Maybe it isnt getting enough air?? Seems highly unlikely to me. Shoud the top of the KNN PAN bee touching the hood? Maybe its sucking in too much hot air?? Mileage on the interstate today was 15MPG...Thats a 5MPG drop from the factory settings..I shouldnt have touched anything!

if your using more oil then the motor requires then thats gonna cause you an issue for sure...

I put a K&N panel filter, and cut open the passenger side of my OEM Air Box. I disconnected my battery for 20 min, and let it idle. I have notice slightly improved throttle response, and increased induction noise. my MPG has not not gone up or down yet.

What's wrong with flowmaster? hahaha
The hate for flowmaster on these forums is hilarious. I've always ran flowmaster with no issues. 500+hp stangs, never had a problem. People need to choose mufflers based on sound, not power.. Unless they make a ridiculous amount of power and want every little hp/tq possible. In that case most people have cutouts though. Flowmasters don't have an absurd amount of back pressure that would cause a mpg drop. Your mufflers shouldn't be your problem ( I know you said they're not flows, but still)..
