I'm sending my L&M trans back to Mike for a re-build this week.

I don't trust anyone else to do the work that will get me back on the road,
even if it means shipping it across the country for a $500 FedEx bill.

Riding the Motorcycle until its done, rain or shine.

Just a tip for the future, Old Dominion Lines runs all the way to Delaware and even with their LTL fees it's way cheaper than FedEx. Glad to hear you're sticking with it though, I know it can be frustrating and the occasional :buttkick:

$500 is for both directions, ($250 one way)
arranged from Mike in Delaware on his FedEx account. :D

I just have to drop it off at the local depot
he'll invoice me when he sends it back.

Damn, I'm a little jealous. I'm still waiting for my first track night with the truck. Just a little bit more and you'll be in the 12s... get on it, lol.

Ok, nvm, that's a smoking deal for a round trip. I was quoted $300 one way with ODL when I was looking to ship my core back and Mike found one local for the same price so I just paid that. I truly am blown away by how helpful Mike's been with you, I don't think at this point anybody would blame him for charging you for anything else. Personal service is better than any warranty.

I was going to have him just quote me a price on a new one,
but we decided it would be easy enough to have him just rebuild this one.

I imagine I'll be on the hook if it needs major work, but it should just be bearings.

We have been sharing the blame without really pointing fingers from the first build.

I had to wait almost two months for my tuning, he told me it would be okay to run without tuning
and without a quick learn, that proved to be wrong.
I was partially to blame for not leaving parked until then,
May have romped on it too soon and froze one disc to the OD hub.

After I threw a code for incorrect gear ratio 4th gear, He told me it would just need OD frictions to rebuild and that I could DIY instead of shipping it thousands of miles.
He would supply the frictions so all it would cost me is my time, filters and fluid.

He was right in that it was only the over drive frictions, but he short shipped me by 2 (received 12 instead of 14 discs) so I had to wait another two weeks.
We then found out that we were wrong that I could rebuild it myself.
I managed to screw it up twice...once on his trans, then my stocker.

So now it's going back to him to have it done right, hopefully for the last time.

One thing for sure though,
Mike goes way above and beyond to make things right.
Even if he does end up charging me for more than just the shipping,
it would be better than getting gouged by a local shop.

Easy right? LOL

So you took the blower off, you going to put it back on when the trans is done or what. Just keep it bolt ons?

Maybe the by a beater or start with a fast car? :smokin:

You have the intercoolers stacked? I never got that far on mine, GTP's are cheap to get power out of, I think I did a ecu reflash, smaller pulley, headers, intake for under $1000 and ported my own blower.
Not sure about the gold/red scheme lol

They don't come stock with a intercooler.
Mines like this. About 2" thick aluminum core
ZZPerformance 3800 GTP Intercooler Kit | Grand Prix Intercooler

Yeah, there cheap to make fast. Just a intake, 3.4 pulley and exhaust will get you into the low 14s.....

I got a little bit of money into the motor. Intercooler, headers, rockers, injectors, TB, custom tune, custom exhaust etc..The sleeper effective is gone since everyone knows about them now, but I still get plenty of looks and OOOO faces.

This was before the intercooler. I was running alky injection and you can hear it bogged. Gotta love the WHINE

Well aware they didn't come with intercoolers as I had my blower off to port, I was running the 3.4 zzp pulley, wanted to run a smaller pulley but the 3.4 was pushing it without cooling the charged air.

One of the reasons why I wanted the magnuson SC on my ram was for the sound but cheaped out and bought the Ripp kit
But now I have my eyes on the hellcat lol

My GTP after installing my $40 intake lol

Yeah, I run a 2.8 Pulley now. You could have dropped down to a 3.25. Headers help reduce KR.

The hell cat is going to be bad ***, but it's still a heavy pig..lol
