Yea. I was give and take on getting an upgraded media system. As long as it had the upgraded Alpine speakers, I can get by for awhile while I plan out upgrades, and trust me, there will be many upgrades to the audio of this truck. The alpine system is "ok" for a factory system, but I'm an audiophile and expect oh so much more. I mean, hell, I had just a little over 3000 watts of power running in my 97. Kinda glad I don't have the factory navigation either. That system is a complete PITA to use in my eyes. Not sure if they made some firmware changes between 2009 and 2010, but in the 09s, any changes to the route of travel usually had to be done by completing a key cycle. For $1,200 extra, the system can be so much better in my eyes.
get ready to have some fun. I had that exact same setup I had in the truck. The wiring on it is a pain in the ASS! I had all the wiring diagrams and still jacked stuff up.
They wouldn't let you take it home? We always take the new and old car for at least a week so we can swap hand controls. It's never been an issue.
Couple problems - 1, I didn't have a place for the truck.......2, I was the only one there when I bought it (and bought the van at the same time), so I can only drive one vehicle home. 3, I knew if I brought it home............I wouldn't do **** to my truck that needed to be done. 4, They had to remove some parts from it that I didn't want, so I had to leave it with them to do it. They didn't have them removed by the time I went back that night to get the van (with the wife).
I was ok with them keeping it......had to get their stuff cared for, and I had to get my crap removed to get it all done too.
Shoot him my email, I'd appreciate it!
